*Liya comes up to the door and rings the doorbell* *Bambi answers the door and screams* *Liya enters*
Liya: Hello lovely ladies, or should I say Ni Hao! I would be surprised if any of you could read this week's Liya Letter, but I think most of you might've guessed what it means...
...pack your bags...
...WE'RE ALL GOING TO BEIJING, CHINA!!! *confetti falls and Chinese flags start waving and a huge dragon kite comes in* *Liya dances around with the girls* But the flight leaves tonight, so you all better pack your things and get into that limo because you've got a long journey ahead of you!

*The girls arrive in China and get off the plane* *Liya is there to greet them in the airport terminal*
Liya: Ni Hao, lovely ladies, and welcome to the beautiful city of Beijing! China is a huge fashion capitol that is getting bigger and more fashion forward every day, and it also has one of the most versatile markets, so I thought it would be fitting for us to go here. However, it is time for you all to get straight to work!
This week, we are throwing the brands out the window completely and you will all be doing completely the same shoot for once! *the girls cheer and sigh with relief* This week you'll be shooting covers for Numero China, which is a huge magazine that top names like Liu Wen, former winner Doutzen Kroes, and myself have all appeared in, so this is a very big deal. Their covers are edgy and eye-catching, and vary from simple to dramatic though they're never really over-the-top and usually have a certain elegance or mystery to them. You should look them up for further reference.
Good luck!

Kate: Kayyyyyy! Buuuyyeee. Nathalie: *Confessional* I am so proud of myself for making it over seas. This is where the competition gets really serious. I feel like I was put into the toughest brand though, surprisingly. Cara is serious competition and if I want to win I'm just going to have to persevere and beat her some how. JUDGING Liya: Ni Hao lovely ladies, and welcome to your first judging in the lovely Beijing, China! This week we ignored the brands all together and you all did the same exact shoot for once, which was for Numero China! And the best girl this week will actually get her photo on the cover, so let's figure out who that is going alphabetically this time, so starting with Bambi. Bambi - This would make a great Numero China cover, and most of your film worked well too. I adore your pose here, it's very dynamic and your legs look great, and I also liked the hunched shoulders and I love what you did with the dress, it makes the image quite interesting and I want to buy the dress. Your face looks beautiful and you are connecting with the camera, but I wish you had a little more life in your expression because I think that's the tiny thing that is holding this back from outstanding, though it's still a great photo. Cara - You had a lot to choose from in your film, it took me a while to select this photo. It's one of those photos that didn't blow me away at first, but the more I look at it the more I love it. Your eyes here are just so entrancing, the connection is perfect and I just find myself locked in a staring contest with you, it's like you're trying to tell me something with your eyes but the message isn't quite going through. It adds a certain mystery that works perfectly for the styling, and speaking of the styling you sell the hat and jewelry fantastically. The only thing I don't like is how large your nostril looks, but that's such a minor, nitpicky detail and overall this is a very captivating shot. Kim - This is great, Kim, I could definitely see it as a cover. That eye is so piercing and so intense, it definitely draws me in and captures my attention. I also like how you're covering the other eye, combined with the darkness that gives this a very mysterious edge that Numero China likes. I also think all your features look great and you're selling the jewelry. Your hand is a little distracting and slightly out of proportion from the rest of the shot, but that's the only flaw I can find. Marcelina - This is gorgeous, probably the prettiest I have ever seen you look! You look so fabulous, very beautiful and expensive and regal and even a bit sexy actually. Your skin and hair look radiant, you're selling all the accessories wonderfully, your eyes have a fantastic connection with the camera, and I could totally see this as a cover. My only problem is that your expression comes across as a bit confused with the furrowed brow and open mouth, so I wish you had done something different with that, but overall well done. Nathalie - You gave me plenty to choose from in your film, I took a while to select the best shot. At first I wasn't sure how well this shot fit for Numero China, but after reflecting it reminds me of my own cover and I could see them going for this. It's fantastic, your eyes are piercing and have a fantastic connection, it instantly draws me in and I would stop to look at this on a magazine rack for sure. Your skin and body look amazing and you make me want to buy that unique swimsuit. I don't mind the loss of neck at all considering the angle, but I do slightly mind the unevenness/asymmetry of your jaw, but other than that one minor detail this is flawless. Thuy - This is your first shot that hasn't left a grand impression on me. It's not a bad shot by any means, but it's not up to your usual sensational standard. I think your face and skin look beautiful, and I really like the elegance and slight mystery to this photo. I hate everything about your arms in this photo though, the hands are awkward and your shoulders are so stiff, and your arms just get in the way of the beautiful dress. Your body proportions also look a bit odd here, especially your hips. It would still make a decent cover and it's not a disappointing photo, but I am disappointed by it because you can do so much better.

ELIMINATION Liya: Hello again lovely ladies, and welcome to your first elimination in China. Sorry for the long delay, I know usually I don't take this long to deliberate but this was perhaps the strongest week in the history of this competition so it made my job very, very difficult. All of your photos were great, most even near perfect, so deciding on the call-out order and elimination was nearly impossible. Numero China was also very impressed, so even though only 1 girl shall get the cover, all of your photos will still appear in an editorial inside. In the end I had to lay out all of the photos in front of me and decide which ones caught my eye the most to determine the call-out order. So, without further ado, the first name I am going to call is... NATHALIE! Congratulations Nathalie, Numero China was super impressed with you and your photo caught my eye the most, so you will appear on the cover of Numero China! KIM! Congratulations Kim, your photo was amazing this week, the only reason you weren't called first is that it wasn't quite as eye catching as Nathalie's, but overall splendid job. CARA! Great job this week Cara, I was very impressed. MARCELINA! Your cover was also very eye-catching, had your expression been less confused then you definitely would've been called first and gotten the cover, so take note of what such a little detail can do to your place. Fantastic job still though, congratulations. Will Bambi and Thuy please step forward? Bambi, your photo this week was fantastic, it just wasn't quite as eye-catching as the ones called before you so you're basically here just because someone has to be...but the problem is that you're also here with the strongest girl in this competition. Thuy, as I just said, you are the strongest girl in this competition...or perhaps I should say were, because this week you had the weakest photo of the bunch by far, the only one that did not receive a near-perfect score. It wasn't a bad photo, but it wasn't nearly up to the high bar that you've set. It worries me when someone so strong falls so far, especially when everyone else is rising. It makes me wonder if you're cracking under the pressure, and modeling is such a high-pressure profession that there is no room for breakdowns. So who stays? * flips photo* At the end of the day, I couldn't justify eliminating either one of you because the quality of photos was just too high and both of you were just in the bottom two because there has to be one. So congratulations Bambi and Thuy, you're both still in the running. Even though I hate to do another non-elimination, there have already been 2 double eliminations so whose to say there won't be a third? So step it up ladies, because next time you might not be so lucky.

Nathalie: *Confessional* OH MY GOSH! I'm going to be on the cover of NUMERO! This is amazing! On the other hand, I know I've been the nice, sweet girl to encourage everyone on, but the second I get a first callout, no one gets eliminated? Like that's just super frustrating because I thought I was in the final five. Now I could go home next week and not have made any progress this week. Well, complaining won't fix anything, so I just have to go out and deliver another killer photograph next week.

*the girls get into their new Chinese limo which brings them to the Great Wall*
Liya: Hello lovely ladies! I'm sure you all guessed that you would be shooting at the Great Wall of China, right? *Nathalie nods her head vigorously* Yes, well, here we are! As one of the Seven Wonders of the World and perhaps China's most famous feature, I thought the Great Wall would be a fantastic place for a photoshoot.
Now, this week again will be independent of Brands because at this point in the competition, your Brands have been well established and you've each proven yourselves more than capable. So you will all be doing the same shoot, but you have some options for how to do it. No matter what I want your photos to be edgy and editorial, and have some sense of refinement and power or grandeur in them because the Great Wall is such a powerful landmark, but what you do beyond that is kinda up to you...you could go for a fierce warrior, a regal queen, a haunting phantom, a mysterious invader...but either way I expect interesting photos out of you.
