JUDGING
Gisele: Hello ladies and welcome to your fifth judging. this week we will be cutting down to eleven girls from the twelve standing her in front of me. This week I took inspiration from the book The Hunger Games. I wanted you all to embody a side to the multidimensional character, Katniss Everdeen. Let's start this week off with last weeks' top girl, Cintia.
Cintia: This is gorgeous, Cintia. You're like the spider entrapping Peeta into your web to make sure both of you make it out alive. There is a lot of sex appeal here, but it isn't overly risque which is good. Even though I can't see the eyes, I can still feel the passion in them. I was really hoping you'd play up the "Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire" aspect with your red hair and all, but this is still great.
Montana: This is probably your weakest shot to date, Montana. I don't feel the passion or desire in the eyes. The slightly parted mouth makes you look more confused than strong and powerful and you really aren't doing anything with your body. I just don't get Katniss from this photo.
Maryna: What I love most about this shot is the look to the camera. It's like you know that they are filming you in the games so you're trying to make sure that they are watching as you play up the sex appeal and he is completely falling for it. There is lust and passion here and it's beautiful.
Daniela: I had an issue with your film, Daniela. I specifically said that you needed to be portraying the different sides of Katniss, but in some of your shots, you were portraying Rue and Effie. You had a better shot in your film than this, but it didn't follow the theme at all. This is good, but overall, I'm not blown away by this. The body looks nice, but I don't love the face. I just think you look confused.
Meghan: I think this is great, Meghan. You really captured the spirit of the games here with the extreme power. The lung forward is amazing. This shot kind of reminds me more of Cato instead of Katniss though because he used a spear and was this ferocious while Katniss was a little more sly and less aggressive.
Sigrid: I instantly see Katniss in this shot, Sigrid. The styling really helps as well. The braid was Katniss's signature hair style an I love that it is incorporated here. I just feel the desire of Katniss to break out of the reigns that the Capital has over all of Panem. It's so simple, but it is very affective.
Anna: I'm basically going to give you the same critique as Maryna. I love how Peeta looks so wrapped up in you while you're more wrapped up in making the Capitol believe that you are in love. I love your bone structure here and the intensity in the eyes. It's one of your best shots to date.
Caroline: The bow and arrow was Katniss's weapon of choice and that really helps to bring me to the realization that this is representing Katniss. This reminds me of when Katniss sees Cato running at her and tries to shoot him because I see the fear in your eyes. It's a strong photo.
Anabela: WURK! This is stunning, Anabela. I feel the pain from this shot and it's really believable. It reminds me of when Peeta and Cato are coming back for Glimmer, but Peeta tells you to start running. It's a stunning photograph and probably your best to date.
Toni: You really aggravate me, Toni. You are such a stunning girl with so much potential, but you don't use it. This shot is just bad, Toni. You don't even look like you're moving. If you're on a small set, there are ways to portray running, but here you just look lost. I'm disappointed.
Magdalena: This is disappointing, Magdalena. While the shot is gorgeous, it doesn't reflect the novel at all. The tributes weren't buried, their bodies were taken from the arena to the families. Katniss laid Rue to rest by placing flowers on her to spite the Capitol and let Rue go out in beauty and respect. All I see here is a sexy girl on a table. Nothing else.
Abbey: This is a huge step up, Abbey. You look absolutely gorgeous in this shot. The eyes, your bone structure. Everything just looks so perfect. I'm very impressed. It kind of reminds me of her hiding in the bushes and rocks waiting to destroy the Careers' food. It's beautiful.
