JUDGING
Gisele: Wow. It seems like yesterday that there were 16 girls here and now there are only two remaining. This week you shot your spreads and covers of Vogue Paris and Beauty in Vogue as well as walked for Louis Vuitton. Let's start with Maryna's Beauty in Vogue cover.
Beauty in Vogue:
Maryna: This is probably your best shot facially throughout the whole competition. It's something I haven't seen from you and I think it's gorgeous. I really feel like there is emotion in this shot. I can feel something from the eyes and it's beautiful. I love the one piece of hair coming across your face as well. It's not as dramatic as some Beauty in Vogue covers are, but it's stunning nonetheless.
Montana: It's not your best shot to date, Montana, but you've taken some amazing photos, so it's not saying that it is bad in any right. I love the shape of your face and the neck extension. I think there is a blankness in the eyes, but for some reason, it works. The one thing I don't love is your nose in this shot. At certain angles, your nose does photograph a little wonky so just be careful of that.
Vogue Paris:
Maryna: Your
cover is great. It's very eye catching and fashion forward. It would definitely catch my eye on the newsstand. I think the body is great, but I don't love the expression. There is something off in the eyes that could have been fixed. I'm not loving the
first shot of your spread. You do look the best in the shot, but the other two girls just look terrible. Your eyes are dead and I don't like how huge your foot looks. I love your
second shot though. There is such a ferocity and a tenacity in your face that I love. The body, even though it is scrunched up, looks long and that's very important. I love your pose in the
third shot. your limbs look so long and lean and I love that. The face is nice, but not anything special. Your
last shot is tied with the second shot for my favorite shot of the spread. You look so much better than Hanne and you look like you are a gazillion feet tall. Overall, I was very impressed Maryna and this could totally work for the client.
Montana: I'm not totally loving the
cover, Montana. I feel like there is a deadness in the eyes and I'm not loving the parted mouth. You do look beautiful, but it is definitely not your best shot facially. Now the
second shot totally makes up for it! This is fucking amazing, Montana. I would even go as far as to say that this is the best shot of the competition, including last cycle. You look like a friggen queen of the desert. The way the fabric is moving, the pose. It's just amazing. And the best part is the face. Your bone structure looks amazing and I love the eyes. Your best shot to date. I don't love the
second shot, but it's still beautiful. Your bone structure looks great and there is an intensity, but it isn't so intense that it takes away the femininity of the photograph. It's risky to do a group shot in an editorial shot for your
third page where you aren't in the center, but you own the photo. There is action in your shot, while the other girls just look like shit. I do wish you were in the center though. The
last shot is great as well. Your face just can't photograph poorly and I love the look in the eyes. The body looks amazing and overall, the whole editorial is just stunning.
Louis Vuitton:
Maryna:
Pass 1: You know that I think you are an amazing runway girl, and you didn't let me down. This is great. You looked calm and fierce at the same time: like you've been doing it for years. You kept the elegance while still bringing some edge.
Pass 2: You make the outfit look stellar. You look so tall and so strong. You could easily go out and book so many shows for your first season after your showing tonight.
Montana:
Pass 1: You went into this show the underdog because Maryna is huge competition, but you held your own. You really used your youthful look to your advantage. You looked a little nervous and you didn't bring that ferocity that Maryna had, but it worked in your favor because it made you look very young and innocent.
Pass 2: You killed it in your second pass. I think that after the first pass, you got your confidence and really shined on the runway.
Both of you did amazingly on the runway and I heard people saying "Who is she?" when I was watching you so you really impressed some of the major people in the industry.
