JUDGING
Gisele: Hello ladies and welcome to your second judging. This week you did a photoshoot that has meaning to it. I wanted you to choose a feature that isn't typically looked at as pretty that you have and turn it into something that makes you unique and beautiful (Me: I didn't have time to edit the photos). You also had a runway challenge where you walked for Dolce and Gabbana's spring/summer ready to wear fashion show. Let's start off with top girl from last week, Meghan.
Meghan:
Runway: While I liked that you brought intensity on the runway, it came off as a little too harsh. I would have preferred more of a soft intensity. Also, you were very stiff on the runway and you just needed to relax. You did not win the challenge, so you do not have immunity, but you were also not the worst, so you will not have a point docked from your score.
Photoshoot: This is another gorgeous photo from you, Meghan. There is a real vulnerability that is coming from this photo and it really comes through the eyes. The coldness of this shot really works to your advantage because it makes you look even more pale. Another strong week, Meghan.
Maryna:
Runway: You were a stand out, Maryna. You were fantastic on the runway. You really just floated down the runway and served it up. You looked elegant, sexy, and confident. And for those three reasons, you won the runway challenge! Congratulations, you have immunity. Even though you won immunity, we'll still evaluate the shot.
Photoshoot: It was very smart of you to pose in profile to show off your nose. I like the shot, but I'm not raving over it. I feel like it's definitely a good shot and it works, but I just wish there was more emotion from the shot. Actually, I wish there was more emotion in your film in general because a lot of it was this same, harsh expression.
Montana:
Runway: You did really well on the runway, Montana. I thought you looked young, fresh, and strong. I don't necessarily you were a stand out, but you did your job and sold the clothes.
Photoshoot: I love that you really went simple with this shoot. You didn't need all that dramatic styling. This shot is you. It's not the makeup, it's not the clothes, it's Montana. You look incredibly stunning with such little makeup on and it really shows true beauty.
Abbey:
Runway: You were another girl that did well on the runway. You were a little awkward, but it ended up working in your favor. You looked beautiful up there and I was impressed.
Photoshoot: I was hoping you'd choose your eyes because they are so large on such a small face, but they are still stunning. This shot is just amazing. It's very Twiggy. I love the solemnness that comes through the eye. I don't know how you winked, but the rest of you face didn't move up. It just looks stellar.
Hailey:
Runway: You were definitely one of the weaker girls on the runway, Hailey. You just looked very inexperienced and very nervous. You commercial look really worked against you here. You are not the loser of this challenge though.
Photoshoot: Beautiful. I love your eyes here. They are smoldering. Your lips look stunning and the simplicity really helps you here. It's funny that I said you looked young and inexperienced on the runway, but in this shot, I see a strong, powerful woman, not a young girl. Great job.
Sigrid:
Runway: I'm really disappointed in you Sigrid. You did not show up to the runway challenge at all. This is such a huge client and they can make or break you in this industry. They had looks waiting for you that they had to scramble to fit to other models because you didn't show up. You are the loser of this challenge and will be docked a point this week.
Photoshoot: You are so lucky you got a stunning photo this week, Sigrid because had your photo been bad, you'd have been going home for sure. I love how raw this is. There is just so much emotion and I absolutely love it. You look very distant and glazed over, but something about that really works for me.
Caroline:
Runway: You had a very strong stride Caroline and I really liked that about your walk. There were flaws with it too, though. I felt like your face was vacant and you were moving your arms too much. Overall, you were strong though.
Photoshoot: This is a strong photo, Caroline. I love your freckles and they really take you away from being the typical blonde bombshell. I think that there is a soft intensity in the eyes that really works to your favor. I just wish your hair wasn't blocking some parts of your face.
Jane:
Runway: I didn't love you on the runway, but I didn't hate it either. I felt like you were nervous and a little stiff, but overall, you weren't bad. You were just there really.
Photoshoot: I'm not going to lie, you probably have my favorite face here. Your bone structure is just incredible here. Your jawline is just sick. You have real power just with that bone structure alone. I really like how simple the shot is and how gorgeous you look. It gets the message across which was the main goal of the shoot.
Anna:
Runway: You were born to be a runway model. You walk with ease, like you've done it for years. You were extremely close to winning this challenge. You were great.
Photoshoot: I don't really see anything wrong with your smile, Anna. I actually really love it. Warmth blasts from this shot. It's just so sweet and I wanna give you a hug. I love it. It's so cute.
Daniela:
Runway: In all honesty, I'm not really seeing a runway career in your future. It just looked very cheap and Dolce and Gabbana is not cheap. It seemed kind of like a teen mall fashion show. Luckily, Sigrid and Jac didn't show up to the challenge at all though, so you did not loose this challenge.
Photoshoot: You really redeemed yourself in the photoshoot though. This shot is gorgeous. There is something so soft about the photo that just draws me into the shot. I love how you hit the nail on the head with your racial ambiguity. You could easily be Brazilian, Filipino, Mexican, Venezuelan. Anything really. It's beautiful.
Magdalena:
Runway: You did very well on the runway, Magdalena. You looked super confident and strong up there. You were definitely a contender for the win, but Maryna was just a little stronger.
Photoshoot: This is very classically beautiful, Magdalena. It's very elegant and expensive looking. Almost like a portrait. Your bone structure looks great, very square like Jane's, but there is one thing that kills the shot for me. The eyes. They are so blank. There is nothing in them at all. A little more life and the shot would've been killer.
Anabela: You owned that runway, Anabela. It was so strong. So fierce. So powerful. Your strut was amazing and you looked so confident. It was really close between you and Maryna, but in the end, I liked her slightly better.
Photoshoot: I like that it isn't a beauty shot. You and Anna are the only ones to have done that thus far. This is just stunning. It's so raw. So vulnerable, and so stunning. I like how you look very caught in the moment. It's breathtakingly stunning, Anabela. Such an improvement.
Jac:
Runway: You didn't show up either. I was really disappointed because both you and Sigrid have amazing runway bodies, and you just didn't use them. You'll also be docked a point from your score this week.
Photoshoot: Beautiful. Your eyes really tell a story here. It's like I'm looking into your soul. It's so clean and vulnerable and that's what makes the shot enticing. I love how almost scared you look. It brings real emotion and I like that.
Toni:
Runway: You were another girl that did extremely well. I thought that you walked very well and you commanded attention. However, Maryna just really smoked everyone so you did not win the challenge.
Photoshoot: This is very pretty, Toni. I think it's a nice shot, but not the most amazing shot ever. I do like that you took a feature that really was an imperfection and worked with it because I feel like a lot of the girls took a feature that would be looked at as beautiful and used that. You really got the object of the shoot.
Cintia:
Runway: You did surprisingly well on the runway Cintia. You kind of had it all working against you being the shortest and the curviest girl on the runway, but you actually did really well and I was happy.
Photoshoot: I really, really like this photo, Cintia. Your freckles looks amazing. A lot of people would say that there is no connection at all, and they'd be right, there isn't, but for me it really works. It brings emotion to the table without being overly obvious. There is a solemn mood to the shot that really works.
