JUDGING
Gisele: Hello ladies and welcome to your first judging. This is the first major step in deciding who will be signed to the agency and who will go home. This week you all chose a photo of myself and represented it in a photo. I wanted you to recreate it as accurately as possible while still putting your own spin on it. Let's start with Abbey Lee.
Abbey Lee: I really wasn't expecting to see something like this out of you! It's so raunchy and sexy, but there is still a modelesque quality to the photo. Your face looks amazing. The jawline just pops and the eyes, even though they are closed, wreak of emotion. The arch in the back is amazing and overall, you did a great job.
Anabela: While this shot is stunning, I don't see anything from the original photo. I did want you to make the shot your own, but I still wanted to see remnants of the original photo. I love your face here, but like I said before, it doesn't really match the photo. My face has something soft about it while yours is harsh. It's gorgeous, but not what I was looking for.
Anna: I think the shot is strong, Anna. I like the powerful stance you are giving. You are giving a strength like a fashionable girl on the go. You sell the clothes amazingly and your face looks stunning, but I don't fully see my shot here. There is an elegance to my shot even though it is edgy and sexy, but you didn't capture that in your photo.
Caroline: I chose this shot from your film because it was the most like mine. It wasn't the strongest shot, but it is still beautiful. I love how your pose is almost exactly the same as mine, but what I like the most about it is how you kind of look like a warrior. There is something very strong and action-star like that I saw in my photo and I love seeing it here. You have an amazing body and you really used it to your advantage this week.
Cintia: I'm not loving it. You got the strength and sex appeal that I saw in my shot, but there is one thing that is killing me. You are already the shortest girl here and I can see it in the shot. Your legs look really short and I just can't get past it. It's an amateur shot, Cintia and I really wanted to see something great from you.
Daniela: It's a good shot, Daniela, but it doesn't fully blow me away. You are a gorgeous girl and we all know that, but that's all I see here. I'm not necessarily seeing that model shine through. BUT, you really captured my photo here. You did something similar with the hands and the tilt of the head. I like the shot, but it isn't extraordinary.
Hailey: This is very strong, Hailey. It's not your best shot from your film, but it's still beautiful. Every shot worked for the theme some way because it had the flowing dress and all, but there was an intense expression all the time when my shot is more soft and dreamy. This is the softest your face got and it's beautiful. You were at the bottom of my list when I cast you, but you really surprised me.
Jac: I really like the body language. It's similar to mine which is bent and sort of broken down. I think the motion is great, but you really lose it for me in the face. When you were scouted, we picked you because of your face and you didn't use it here. The expression is so blank. While your bone structure looks great, it's the eyes that tell the story and they are glossed over. It's like you weren't present.
Jane: You are wearing me out with that face! It's fucking amazing. Your bone structure looks amazing and the fire in your eyes is piercing. I struggled with your film though. My shot was pretty sexy and I didn't get any of that sex appeal from you. The popped hip here is the closest thing I got to sex appeal. The hands are cool and interesting, but I think they diverge this shot from my shot as it's more simple and powerful as opposed to yours which is more weird and different.
Magdalena: I'm not blown away by this. I do think it imitates my photo very well with the sexiness and the head tossed back, but I don't love the shot as a whole. I feel like you're arms look bulky and your face looks really strained. It's like you're struggling to keep the eyes closed. The neck looks a little weird as well. Overall, it fits the theme, but I don't love the photo.
Maryna: This is great, Maryna. I really love the power of the shot and how you worked fabric. I love how you made putting your arms straight up look graceful and it works. I love the strength of the legs and it really emulates the strength of my photo. The face also has amazing power and those eyes are really focusing on something in the distance. It's a very strong first photo, Maryna.
Meghan: What I love about this shot is how unexpected it is. During casting, that shoot that we had with you, you brought so much edge and intensity and it really made me question if you could do soft work and you really did it this week. It's gorgeous. Your skin looks amazing and your body looks killer. There is something so demure and so fragile about your face here and it looks beautiful. I'm pleasantly surprised Meghan.
Montana: Stunning, Montana. Simply stunning. You wreak of classic elegance here and it's stellar. You look like you just caught glimpse of someone in the distance and your eyes look stunning. It just looks so in the moment and I love it. I wasn't expecting this at all from you because your polaroid in casting was kind of weak and I wasn't sure how your face would photograph and I learned that is photographed amazingly.
Shena: I don't love it, Shena. I feel like it looks similar to the photo that you chose of me, but it doesn't fully encompass the whole shot. The paint looks great and I love your jawline but it is really lacking in the eyes. In my photo, for me, it's all about the eye. The subtle emotion and quick glance of the eye really makes the shot. You are lacking any sort of emotion in the eyes. You're just looking down. Had you looked up towards the camera, while still in profile, this shot would have been genius.
Sigrid: I actually like your shot better than mine. It looks like a love story, like something that could be on the cover of a romance novel. The male model looks like he's saving you and you've just escaped something horrible and he's comforting you. The face looks stunning and you really put great emotion into the photo. It's sexy, but sophisticated and I like that.
Toni: Just because you have similar styling doesn't mean that you imitated the photo. Styling helps, but it's your job to really capture the mood of the photo and I don't think you did that here. My photo is very sexy and coy, while yours is... well... dead. There is no life in the eyes at all. The hand looks terrible and overall, I'm kind of disappointed.
