PYRAMID CEREMONY*The girls all enter seeing all three judges waiting anxiously to reveal the results of the week*
Elle: Hi ladies. Welcome back to the judging room for your second pyramid ceremony. Here is where one of you will strive to the top of the pyramid while others will fall down. This week you girls had an amazing shoot with Marcin Tyszka where your wore flowy gowns and created beautiful motion. He also shot some beautiful portraits of you this week. Let's not wait any longer. The pyramid structure this week is a 6-4-2-1 structure. The first girl in the bottom row of six is...
Tanya.
Elle: I was really hoping last week was going to be the breakthrough you needed, but unfortunately, I just wasn't impressed.
Karlie: Yeah, I don't know what was going on with you this week. It was almost like you weren't fully engaged.
Cara: I feel like the shots could have been amazing, but aren't. In the portrait you gave a strong expression, but the angle made you lose your neck. And in the other photo, the fake walk ruins it all. Marcin wanted you girls to actually walk and give motion. Not fake it.
Elle: I just think you read completely blank in both shots. It's a less than impressive week, Tanya. The next girl on the bottom of the pyramid is...
Ming.
Karlie: Your walking shot is great. The stride is powerful, you brought motion to the dress, and the face is beautiful. Your portrait, however, is the worst of the week for me.
Cara: No it isn't, Karlie. It's not great, but there are other shots that are worse.
Karlie: Like who?
Cara: Well, Tanya's was pretty bad.
Karlie: No way. She actually gave an expression. Ming looks like she's been hit by a bus.
Elle: I wouldn't go that far.
Karlie: Look at her eyes. They are so uneven, her mouth is gaped, and she has no life at all.
Elle: I think Karlie is being a little hard on you, Ming. It isn't great. I agree that you could have brought more expression, though. You have such expressive, beautiful eyes and you didn't really bring anything in either of your shots through them. Thanks, Ming. The next girl on the bottom row is...
Vika.
Elle: What are we going to do with you, Vika. Last week what almost sent you home was your lack of drive and this week you show up late to your photoshoot? I'm already regretting my decision.
Cara: You're not a supermodel yet, honey. You don't get to pull these stunts. If you were to show up late in the real world, you'd be sent home and your name would be spread throughout the industry as unreliable.
Karlie: It stinks that you were late because these are some beautiful photographs. You have the first motion shot that I actually really like, but I wish you were wearing a gown and you have a great expression in your portrait. But, in the real world, these shots would have never been taken if you showed up late. If you somehow make it through this week, you need to be on your best behavior.
Elle: Thanks, Vika. The fourth girl in the bottom row of six is...
Lynn.
Cara: I think you could have been great this week, but you came up short. It's mostly direction issues that I'm having because I don't see any motion in the walking shot and the beauty shot is too clean.
Karlie: I agree. We wanted you to be somewhat made-up for the portrait shot, not completely fresh-faced.
Elle: But you do have to admit that it's a gorgeous photo.
Cara: Oh it is, but it isn't without it's flaws either. Had you brought more power in the eyes and did your hair, this would have been perfection.
Elle: Thanks, Lynn. The next girl on the bottom of the pyramid is...
Martha.
Elle: I was expecting a little more, Martha. I will say your portraits is one of my personal favorites this week, but I'm not blown away by the full body shot.
Cara: I agree. It's very plain and though there is some motion there, you aren't really giving an amazing stride.
Karlie: She's also pretty blank in the face. Your beauty shot is gorgeous though. I love your bone structure and the look in the eyes. It's great.
Elle: Not your best work, Martha. The final girl on the bottom of the pyramid is...
Nicole.
Karlie: Facially I think the walking shot is gorgeous. You gave a lot of intensity and really angled your face well, but the body brings the shot down. I wish you gave more power in the stride.
Cara: Yeah, it looks like you're faking the walk instead of actually going for it.
Elle: I think your portrait is beautiful. Having hair in your face was a risk, but you power through it. I think the reason why you were in the bottom row this week was because both of your shots were good while each of the girls above you had at least one shot that was amazing. You didn't have that wow factor this week. Thanks, Nicole. The first girl in the second row who is safe from elimination is...
Anna.
Elle: Marcin said that you were one of his favorites to shoot... Once he got to the portraits. He felt like you really didn't do much on set when shooting the walking shot and it's clear in this photo. You're just kind of standing there and letting the wind machine do all the work.
Karlie: But you can tell why you were a favorite in the portrait shot because this is just stunning. Some may say the eyes look dead, but I think they have a smoldering, sexy look in them and I love it.
Cara: I agree with both Elle and Karlie here which doesn't usually happen. My advice to you would be to do more, because honestly, in the line of girls, you're kind of forgettable.
Elle: Thanks, Anna. The next girl on the second row is...
Sara.
Cara: You're walking shot is easily the best one so far. The stride is strong. The legs look amazing. You gave motion to the dress. Great job.
Karlie: The only critique I have for you this week is that I don't love the walking shot facially. I think you could have given a little more power there.
Elle: I agree with Karlie on that one, but I do feel like you more than make up for it in your portrait. Your bone structure looks gorgeous, the eyes have a great connection with the camera--
Cara: But the bulky shoulders are distracting me a lot.
Elle: That's a minor detail though.
Cara: Well minor details count. It can be the difference between being safe and going home.
Elle: Well the minor detail of the shoulders didn't make a difference when her face is so stunning. Cara, you're overruled. Thanks, Sara. The third girl in the second row is...
Liu.
Cara: The motion shot is spectacular, Liu. You look like an angle. I love the whip of the hair and the surprised expression. It's just an amazing photograph.
Karlie: But the girls were meant to be walking, not leaping. But other than the fact that it didn't meet the criteria, it's a gorgeous photo. The problem I have with you this week is the portrait shot. While it is gorgeous, it's a little too natural and clean-faced.
Elle: I agree. I would have liked a little bit more styling the make it look more like a portrait rather than polaroid. You do look beautiful though. Thank you, Liu. The final girl on the second row is...
Sophie.
Elle: I'm going to start with the obvious. That beauty shot is just perfection.
Karlie: There is no denying that one.
Cara: Even I can't find anything wrong with it. Those eyes are just absolutely captivating. Amazing job, Sophie.
Elle: I am going to critique your other shot though because it isn't really what Marcin was looking for. He said that you did not produce any shots with motion other than moving the dress. You weren't walking which is what we were looking for this week.
Karlie: You need to follow directions even if what you were doing was great. If it isn't what he wanted, you need to give him what he wanted.
Elle: Thanks, Sophie. The first girl in the next row is...
Sui.
Karlie: Praise the Queen of the portrait. Perfection. Brilliant. Amazing.
Cara: I agree, you easily have my favorite portrait shot in the bunch. You just have such a gorgeous face.
Elle: It's definitely one of my favorite portrait shots along with Sophie's. I also like your walking shot, but you're not walking. When I first saw it, I thought you were though so at least you gave the illusion you were walking.
Karlie: Yeah, if you just look at you from the knees up, it looks like you're making a powerful stride.
Cara: But once again, what sells me is the face. You brought so much intensity. It's great.
Elle: Thanks, Sui.
Daniela, Juju. You are our top two this week!
*the judges and girls clap*
You both were in the bottom row last week and I would guess that that is what motivated you and got you up to the top of the pyramid this week. Only one of you can be on top, however. The girl who came up just short is...
Daniela.
Cara: I first want to say that if you ever grow out your hair or put a weave in it, I will personally find you and rip it out because this short cut in the motion shot looks amazing on you. It frames your face, which looks amazing, so well. You worked the dress amazingly and really delivered.
Karlie: I love the softness in your face in the portrait as well. You brought a soft look, but still gave strength in the eyes. The one critique I would give would be to watch the gaping mouth because it makes your jaw look swollen.
Elle: You were the first girl to shoot with Marcin and he said over the two shoots, you were his favorite. But individually in the shoots, there were other girls that were stronger. He said you were the only girl to perform amazingly in both shoots, so congratulations on that. Thanks, Daniela. So that leaves...
Juju on the top of the pyramid!
*the girls all clap even though they wish it was them*
Elle: That walking shot. Guuuuuurrrrrlllll. You better work. It's perfection.
Karlie: You're the shortest girl in the competition at 5'8, but you look my height in this one. Those legs. That body. That face. I can't find a flaw. We will leave that the Cara.
Cara: *silence* I honestly can't even find a flaw in that photo.
*Elle and Karlie look shocked*
Cara: BUT.
*Elle and Karlie are no longer shocked*
Cara: Your portrait could be stronger. I just think it's a little plain and it looks like you're trying too hard in the eyes. But that other shot totally makes up for it.
Elle: Well Juju. It's the moment of truth. You earned the top spot on the pyramid this week, but you also earned the privilege of putting two girls from the bottom row up for elimination. Those girls are Nicole, Martha, Lynn, Vika, Ming, and Tanya. Good luck with the decision.
