PYRAMID CEREMONY*the girls enter to see not only Elle sitting behind the judging table, but Karlie and Cara as well*
Elle: Hello ladies and welcome to your first pyramid ceremony in the judging room. As you probably noticed, this cycle is not like the rest as I am not the sole deciding factor. Karlie Kloss and Cara Delevigne have both won the competition already, so they truly understand what it is like to be in your shoes and can add a new perspective to judging. The three of us have already evaluated your photos giving scores between one and ten. These scores have determined the pyramid standing this week. Your goal is to be as high on the pyramid as possible to avoid being put up for elimination. The girls in the bottom row will be in danger of elimination as the top girl will choose two girls that she feel should go home. Us three judges will then make the decision on who goes home out of those two. So basically, try your best to stay clear of the bottom row. This week the pyramid structure is 6-4-3-1. Well, I think you get the idea, so let's begin judging and revealing the pyramid. This week you worked with American Vogue for four spots in their July issue. We wanted to see vintage swimsuit looks from you ladies. Some impressed, others were solid, and others just missed the mark. So let's begin. The first girl in the bottom row of the pyramid is...
Kel.
Karlie: I was really disappointed this week. I really thought you had something in casting, but it just didn't translate over to this week.
Cara: I feel like you look a little uncomfortable. It's almost like you're hunched to hide your body. Maybe you thought it was high fashion and edgy, but vintage swimsuit looks are usually very glamorous and sexy. I just don't get that here.
Elle: Unfortunately Kel, I have to agree with them. I don't know if it is your age or what, but you just don't look completely comfortable. The facial expression isn't really all the way there either. You need more life. Thanks, Kel. The next girl on the bottom of the pyramid is...
Anna.
Elle: I don't think this is a great angle for your face.
Cara: I agree, it looks like your face is flat.
Elle: Yeah. I also feel like you were trying to give something in the eyes, but it just comes across strained. Almost like you're holding your breath.
Karlie: I also feel like you could have worked the body a little more. I like the popped hip, but I wish you exaggerated it a little more.
Cara: You have to give it your all, Anna.
Elle: Thanks, Anna. The third girl on the bottom row of the pyramid is...
Daniela.
Elle: I think you got the vintage aspect down well, but I just think the posing is not 100% American Vogue.
Karlie: Yeah, American Vogue is definitely more of a mix between high fashion and commercial. I don't think you got that here.
Cara: I really just wish we could see your gorgeous face. Your face was a major reason why I chose you for the top thirteen, but you've hidden it in the shadows, Daniela.
Elle: Your legs look gorgeous though. Thanks, Daniela. The fourth girl in the bottom row of six is...
Vika:
Karlie: I feel like what let you down here is the sunglasses. It really takes away from your face.
Cara: But that's not an excuse, Karlie.
Karlie: You didn't let me finish. I was saying that the sunglasses were taking away from your face, but you need to be able to push through them and work with them.
Cara: I think you get a little lost in the photo. You take up most of the frame, but the other model grabs my attention first.
Elle: She definitely looks like the better of the two, though.
Cara: That's debatable.
Elle: You're crazy! That other model looks so dead: Vika has some life in her!
Cara: But I don't notice her. She's gorgeous, but can't rest on that.
Elle: She isn't resting! She's giving angles, she has a great body. She looks great.
Cara: Well I don't agree.
Karlie: *sits there awkwardly*
Elle: Whatever, thank you Vika. The next girl on the bottom row of the pyramid is...
Sara.
Elle: Now, Cara, here is someone who was resting on their looks.
Cara: Look at that arch, look at the arms up, look at the angle of the face. She is clearly not resting.
Elle: Yes she is. She has a gorgeous body and isn't using it. Well, she is using it, but she's using it in an expected way. She looks like a Victoria's Secret girl and she's portraying that.
Cara: Well we all have our strengths, so in week one, you really want to show those strengths. Sara, I think you did great.
Karlie: If I can actually speak before Cara and Elle start arguing, I would just say that I think what held you back this week for me was the fact that you didn't get he brief totally. On set, you looked beautiful, but it just was missing that vintage quality for me.
Elle: Thanks Sara. The final girl on the bottom of the pyramid is...
Juju.
Elle: I don't know what happened score wise to put you down here because I think it's great. Your face looks beautiful, your body looks great in the swimsuit, and it looks vintage.
Karlie: What put you down here for me is that you didn't push the posing. I'm the type of model who likes to see 100% effort and I give that. I feel like had you arched a little more, gave more power in the expression, and really just went for it, this shot could have made the editorial.
Cara: I'm with Karlie on this. It's a shot that is ALMOST there, but not fully. I see you tried something with the arms, but overall, you just need to commit.
Elle: Thank you, Juju. So now we are moving onto our girls who are safe from elimination. The first girl on row two is...
Sui.
Elle: I think your face in the shot is stunning. Your bone structure looks incredible and I really like the look in your eyes.
Karlie: I agree, the face is what makes the shot for me. The pose could be a little better, but you actually did go for something different which I like.
Cara: I like how you posed in a way that shows off the lingerie which is what we were going for. By bringing the arms up, you showed the bra beautifully. I think you tied the vintage look with something modern which is great.
Elle: Thanks, Sui. The next girl on the second row is...
Ming.
Karlie: I think it's a beautiful photo, but what held you back is that it isn't really vintage.
Elle: I would have to agree with Karlie. Also, you're pushing the sexiness which is great because you pushed it in a way that is model sexy and not porn sexy.
Cara: You need to learn to find the light a little better because we lose a lot of your face with the shadows. Your eyes are so expressive: that's a reason why I picked you in casting as my favorite, but it isn't shown here.
Elle: Thank you, Ming. The next girl on the second row of the pyramid is...
Tanya.
Cara: This is actually really surprising to me. I don't see you as a sexy girl, but you brought some to this shoot.
Elle: I think all of us cast you because of your potential, Tanya and you really proved that you're more than just a girl with potential. This actually reminds me of as shot that I did back in the day and I think this is a great interpretation of it.
Karlie: I love the body, but I need to see a little more expression in your face. It's a little dull.
Elle: Thanks, Tanya. The final girl in this row who just missed out on the spread in Vogue is...
Lynn.
Cara: This is probably my favorite shot in the bunch, but we couldn't put you in the editorial because it is soooo modern and has no touch of vintage.
Elle: I was surprised at how comfortable you were in front of the camera in a swimsuit since you're only 17, but I wish you brought a little bit more vintage to the shot.
Karlie: Those legs look amazing and you sell everything in the shot. This could be an ad for Fendi or Louis Vuitton tomorrow. It's that good, but I couldn't put you in the editorial because of the lack of cohesion with the theme.
Elle: Just try to listen to the brief a little more next time. Thanks, Lynn. *looks at Liu, Martha, Nicole, and Sophie* Well ladies, you're going to be in Vogue! *they look really excited* But only one of you can be on top of the pyramid. Let's find out who that is. The first girl on the third row of the pyramid is...
Martha.
Karlie: It's so simple, but it's so gorgeous. Your face is my favorite part.
Cara: I agree, Karlie. It's just so dreamy and effortless.
Elle: You're just gorgeous in this shot. There is a hint of sexiness, but it still is simple and beautiful.
Cara: I feel like you're in the same boat as Sui too because you tied modern and vintage together very well.
Elle: Well done, Martha. You're appearing in American Vogue! The next girl in the third row is...
Liu.
Elle: This is great, Liu. It's relaxed. It's poised. It's commercially friendly, but still has some high fashion aspect.
Cara: I agree. I love your face here. You aren't looking at the camera, bu I still feel a connection.
Karlie: The pose is just so effortless. Your body looks amazing and the wind came right at the perfect time to blow the hair.
Elle: I think we are all in agreement that this is a beautiful shot. You'll be in Vogue next month! Thanks, Liu.
Nicole. Sophie. You are our top two this week. *the girls and judges clap for them* You both were great and will appear in Vogue with Liu and Martha, but only one of you can appear on top of the pyramid. The girl who came up just a little bit short this week is...
Nicole.
Karlie: This is fantastic, Nicole. Your body looks amazing. I love the arch of the back, the arm up, and the other one resting on your hip. It's all fantastic.
Elle: What I like the most is your face. The expression is just so tranquil and beautiful.
Cara: I agree with both of them. The neck extension looks beautiful and the whole shot just looks so natural. You're definitely someone to watch throughout this competition.
Elle: Great job, Nicole. So that means that...
Sophie is on top of the pyramid. *the girls clap*
Elle: Sophie, this is just sheer perfection. I can't even critique you.
Cara: This is gorgeous, but what is even more impressive is that this is a difficult shot to pull off. You're on a raft in the pool and you still managed to arch the back, lift the legs, bring up the prop, look gorgeous, and nail the theme. You make it look easy.
Karlie: What makes this even more impressive is that when I was watching you on set, you gave such variety. When I was looking through your film, the majority of the shots were amazing. We could have chosen any of your shots and you would have been up here. You really inspired the photographer and left a great impression on Vogue.
Elle: Amazing job, Sophie. Not only will you be appearing in Vogue, but you get to nominate two girls for elimination. You may choose any of the six girls in the bottom two to put up for elimination: Kel, Anna, Daniela, Vika, Sara, or Juju. I'll give you a little time to think about it and then I will call you back to deliver your decision.
(Just PM me your decision with brief explanations as to why you chose the girls you did)
