*Skipping casting portion since we only got 12 sign ups*
*The final 12 contestants all arrive at their NY loft, where they receive their first appearance from Lara*
Lara: Hello final 12. I knew from the moment I saw you I would cast you all, so there was no need for a casting elimination! So there are a couple of changes this cycle. First, we have all new prizes! Please look at the main board (first post) in your loft in order to find out what they are. But also very important is that we are making an addition to the grading system, we will be adding the category of Editorial to your grades. This is basically for all those shoots that don't fall under the commercial/glamour categories, but aren't necessarily haute couture either. Now please head towards the limo to arrive at your first photoshoot!
*the models arrive at a set representing a 1960's office*
Lara: Due to my very recent obsession with this show, you will all be taking place in a Mad Men inspired photoshoot! So we are taking the styling from the fashions, setting, and styles from the show and creating an editorial photoshoot from them. The grade for this shoot will of course be for our new editorial category. Alright everyone, please head to hair and make up, goodluck!
-Photos -Editorial *I can edit photos into the appropriate background if needed
*Since there was no casting elimination, I will instead just rank how the contestant did from 1-12* 1. Samantha 2. Diandra 3. Amanda M 4. Marique 5. Snejana 6. Vanessa 7. Colton 8. Kate 9. Jasmine 10. Ksenia 11. Amanda W 12. Lisa

Diandra: *in confessional* Wow, number 2?! I had a feeling I'd stand out during casting because I'm so different, but I didn't realize that I would be that high up! Hopefully that just set the pace and I can keep it up. PhotoPhotoPhotoPhotoPhotoColton: *in confessional* Wow, I made it into the competition without even having to seduce Lara like all the other male models have had to do! Hmmm...so does that mean I'm a shoe-in for the prizes if I actually do? Because if that's what I need to do, then I certainly don't mind... PhotoPhotoPhotoPhotoJasmine: *in confessional* So it looks like I wasn't much of a stand-out during casting week, so all is going to plan! That might not seem like an obvious plan, but my plan is exactly that: to not be obvious. To enter the competition as a dark horse, and then to take it by storm. And I feel like some clouds started to gather this week, to continue the metaphor. PhotoPhotoPhotoPhotoLisa: *in confessional* Oof, starting off at the bottom of the pack was not quite how I intended to enter the competition...however, I can only go up from here, right? And hopefully I did just that this week! Photo (ignoring the mirror side...) Photo

So Amanda, your the first girl to be judged this season. I know you expressed some concern about the shoot on set, and I do think it showed in your performance. You were looking very uncomfortable in your film. I do like your pose, I think its elegant and vulnerable, but the face doesnt do it for me. I could tell you were trying to match the softness of your body language, but you just look more tense and worried than vulnerable. Its not a totally comfortable shot to look at.
Amanda number two! You are literally a living doll in this photograph. This photograph is just magnifique. You completely embody that 1960's housewife, your whole body language is demure, elegant, and your face is just stunning to look at. This was the first frame in your film and it blew me away.
I think this is a really great photo Colton, dont get me wrong, but I just feel that as the only guy here you had the advantage of playing that “Mad Men” character of the handsome, strong man in the suit, and it never got to that level on set. Facially, this is flaw free, your gaze is so commanding, the pose is good as well, but I think the way you held on to your foot is awkward, as well as how that one hand is on the chair, almost like you were trying to balance yourself. But the good does outweigh the bad so well done overall.
My favorite part of this is how well you got into character, I completely get who you were portraying. Your body language is perfect and thats saying something considering how a pose like this, where your doing an action that wouldnt be typically a model thing to do, could go wrong. The face though is a let down. I feel like you had it so well up to that point, your eyes are a little cross eyed and its like your catching flies. I think if you had done like a sultry expression you could have played this whole “sexy secretary” thing and it would have worked better.
During casting I thought you were a really pretty girl, but when you stepped on set properly styled I was like “Damn! Shes gorgeous!” And you didnt disapoint. Instead of playing the 60's housewife you went for the business woman, which I like because this was also a time where upper class woman where stepping into a mens world basically. I love the casual lean into the wall, you look strong, in composure and sexy. Very happy with the result.
I think this is so beautiful Kate. Your that girl whos having the affair with the married man, and its like your laying in the hotel afterwards deep in thought. Its such a beautiful shot, I think your body looks great and your expression in the mirror is very vulnerable. You also really sell me those shoes, I want a pair for myself.
Watching you on set and then going through your film I just felt like there was a spark missing. I just wasnt seeing that passion or emotion in the eyes, they just came across dead. Your last frame was better than this, but off styling wise with the nudity. Your legs do look amazing though, my god they go on for miles! But overall this shot just falls flat to me.
During casting I wasnt really sure about you Lisa, but this shot proves me wrong! Smoking was basically a way of life during that time and I like how you used it as a prop, your that sexy girl in the powder room getting ready. Your expression is intense but not pushing it too much that it strays from the theme, and I love the crossed legs. Even the way your holding the cigarette is poised.
This photo just really stood out to me Marique. When I go in on your face its like “WOAH” this is stunning. There's just something about the simplicity of your expression that is so serene and beautiful, and its the reason I chose this. On to the pose, I think the simplicity that worked for your face doesnt work as well. I like how the focus is on the dress, but it does take away from the best aspect which is the face. I would have cropped this to waist up if it was me to be honest.
I was very impressed by your performance on set Samantha. Every frame was usable, and you were able to portray a character so well. You are totally Betty from the show in this photo. You captured the time period flawlessly, you look stunning, poised, elegant, and do it all effortlessly.
Going through your film you had great photos, but there would just be something slightly off about them that would stop them from being amazing. This was near the end of your shoot and its the only shot I think went past great to strong. You are this sophisticated foreign beauty, I like the femininity of the shoulders and your neck, your eyes are captivating as well, though there is something tense about the mouth.
I think the easiest way to sum up this shot is that its good, but not memorable. I think you got the styling right, the expression and everything works for the shoot, but there isnt that wow factor about it. Everything is technically sound, but that alone doesnt make an amazing photo. You really want something that jumps off the page. But despite that, its still a great photo and I have no real problems with it.
