PYRAMID CEREMONY*the girls enter excited to see how their shoots and interviews went*
Elle: Welcome back ladies. It's that time of week again where we figure out who is on top of the pyramid and who is on the bottom of the pyramid. This week Elle was your client as you shot a New Faces photo with a supporting interview. It's time to find out the results. The pyramid structure this week is a 5-3-2-1. The first girl on the bottom row of five is...
Daniela.
Elle: I don't know what has happened with you in the past few weeks. You've really slipped in my eyes. This shot is just not the Daniela I remember from the Tyscka photoshoot.
Karlie: I agree. This shot just isn't good Daniela. Your posing looks stiff and uncomfortable and your face looks miserable. You nailed it styling wise, but I don't like you in this photo.
Cara: I have to agree with the two and what I thought was even worse was your interview. You were soooo cocky in there and I was really put off. It's good to have confidence in yourself, but you sounded so arrogant. Like you were the best thing since sliced bread. And clearly with how the pyramid worked out this week, you are not hot shit.
Elle: Thanks, Daniela. The next girl on the bottom row of the pyramid is...
Sara.
Karlie: You really struggled on set and that was surprising to me because you always deliver at least a decent photo that gets the job done. This week you just couldn't fit the brief. A lot of it was too sexy and then the rest was just boring.
Cara: Yeah, I don't like this photo of you Sara. It's too sexy for the brief and you're not pushing through the hair in your face. You just didn't get it.
Elle: I thought your interview was ironic. Your answer to the question about what makes you stand out was your spunk and I was snoozing during your interview. I was so bored. And then on set there was just no energy. If you have the spunk, show it. Thanks, Sara. The next girl on the bottom row is...
Sophie.
Cara: I think what put you here was just that you were average this week. I just didn't really see anything special.
Elle: I agree. It's good that you fit the brief and got the job done, but you didn't go beyond that. The girl that's going to get the spot in the New Faces editorial is going to be someone that professionals are going to see and snatch up in an instant. I don't know if they'd do that for this.
Karlie: I disagree slightly. I feel like you did better than given credit. Sure your interview was a little simple, but that's how you expressed yourself. You even said simple is better. And I actually think your photo is very cool. I think you did well.
Elle: Thanks, Sophie. The next girl on the bottom row is...
Juju.
Karlie: I feel like you were really nervous this week for some reason. I don't know if the possibility of being in Elle really made you freeze up, but you were just very short in your interview and didn't deliver some of that Juju flare that we know you have.
Elle: You definitely did better photographically this week, but the interview was a little plain and short.
Cara: They've said it all really. You just need to bring out the personality and be confident that you're good enough.
Elle: Thanks, Juju. The final girl rounding out the bottom row is...
Tanya.
Elle: Before anyone says anything, I just wanted to let you know that it was so close between you and the next girl. Her interview was just SLIGHTLY better... Okay, you may speak now.
Karlie: I really hate to see you here again, Tanya. But like Elle said, you're basically here because someone had to be. Your photo this week is beautiful. Slightly awkward in the arms, but beautiful.
Cara: I really didn't know you could be this soft, Tanya and it's a beautiful photo. As for your interview, I feel like your nerves got the best of you as well because at the beginning, you kept rambling on. Short and sweet is what you need to learn. But it did get better towards the end.
Elle: Thank you, Tanya. Okay, the first girl in the second row who is safe from elimination is...
Liu.
Karlie: You look gorgeous here, but I think it might be the styling.
Cara: I agree. I think the styling is amazing and really emphasizes how perfect your body really is.
Elle: Oh come on! This shot is amazing. Look at that pose. It's so relaxed, but powerful. Liu, you filled the brief amazingly.
Cara: But look at her face, there is no expression there. Come on, Elle. You can't deny that.
Elle: I think there is a subtle look that I really like in this photo.
Cara: It's dead. There's no energy at all.
Karlie: Let's move onto your interview! Yeah! *trying to diffuse the situation*
Cara: Good idea, Karlie. It was great, Liu. It was really elegant and quietly confident. You sounded intelligent and fun which is perfect for this client.
Elle: Thanks, Liu. The next girl is...
Ming!
Cara: It's really great to see you out of the bottom row. You're finally showing what we saw in casting.
Elle: I agree. This is a super cute shot. You sell the clothes. You look amazing in the clothes.
Karlie: What I like even more is that you look very fresh. It's very young and beautiful. I liked your interview too. It was cute and showed off a bubbly Ming. What more could I ask for?
Cara: I really saw passion in your interview. Great job.
Elle: Thanks, Ming. And to round out this level of the pyramid...
Let's make it an all-Asian row with Sui!
Cara: I think you look really racially ambiguous here. I'm surprised I'm saying that to an Asian model because you all have very define features being from Asia, but I see a little Native American here. It's very Pocahontas.
Elle: I agree. It's a gorgeous shot, Sui.
Karlie: I don't really love it.
*Cara and Elle give her a weird look*
Karlie: I feel like it didn't fit the brief this week. She struggled on set to fit the brief. It's just not what we were looking for.
Cara: *begins to talk*
Karlie: NO! Cara, you interrupt me all the time before I'm finished so keep it zipped for a second. What I was going to say is that what you lacked in the photo, you really made up for in the interview. It was professional, but fun at the same time. *looks at Cara*
Cara: You covered it.
Elle: Okay... Well thank you, Sui. The next girl on the pyramid will be filling the first spot on the third row. That girl is...
Martha!
Elle: Maybe we need to put girls that we want to succeed in the bottom just to scare them because it worked with Tanya and now it worked with you. This is a gorgeous photo, Martha. Your bone structure looks beautiful, your eyes are glistening, even though they are a little uneven. It's very simple, but beautiful.
Cara: I agree. I really just love your face. It's stunning.
Karlie: And the pose is very simple, but it works here. I really liked your interview here. You seemed very confident with yourself and your answers, but it didn't come off as cocky. Daniela, you should take notes of Martha.
Elle: Well thank you, Martha.
Anna. Nicole... Smith. No just kidding. I just had to. It was set up to perfectly. Okay, but seriously. Anna and Nicole, you are the top two this week. But only one of you can be on top. And the girl who came up just short was...
Nicole.
Elle: I think I can speak for all of us and say that your interview was the best. You were calm, cool, collected, candid, sophisticated, youthful, intelligent. It was just perfect.
Cara: And on top of the interview, you are a baby Karlie in this shot.
Elle: I was just going to say that.
Karlie: I guess I see it a little bit because you look absolutely gorgeous so obviously you look like me. *flips her hair jokingly*
Elle: You were amazing this week, Nicole. So, we have on spot left on top of the pyramid and obviously it goes to...
Anna!
Karlie: I literally gasped when I saw this photo, Anna. It's just so beautiful and I absolutely love it.
Elle: You've really emerged these past few weeks and I'm really impressed.
Cara: I agree, this is easily my favorite photo in the bunch.
Elle: And your interview was very good as well. You showed your personality, though a little shy, it was very endearing. I'm really proud of you and you've earned your spot in Elle's New Faces editorial in their September issue.
*the girls clap*
Elle: And speaking of Elle. Nicole. Martha. They've also decided to include you instead of just Anna.
*they look excited and the other girls clap*
Elle: Well, back to business. Anna, as the top girl this week, you get to choose two girls to nominate for elimination this week. Your choices this week are Tanya, Juju, Sophie, Sara, and Daniela. Good luck.
