Photoshoot Judging Judging Team Maryna Liya: I'll go from left to right. Kendra, this might be my favorite photo of you so far. I feel like you have been one of those girls who hasn't exactly rested, but hasn't pushed it enough either but here you're really working it. I think your face looks gorgeous, your expression is great, and you work the dress very well. The only downside is that I think you look a bit out-of-place compared to the other girls with all your motion and intensity, which throws off the cohesiveness. Natasha, I think you really captured the theme best of your team; you look so sophisticated, high-class, and elegant. You look quite tall and statuesque and the dress looks great on you as well, and you sell the purse. I do think that your pose is a little rigid though, especially in the shoulder/neck area, and that overall you played it a little safe since sultry sensuality comes so easily to you. Kate...gosh, you really are miss inconsistent because I think you flopped a bit this week. I don't think it's a bad shot, but not a great one either. Your legs do look good and you're selling the shoes, but I really don't like the angle of your face or your expression, and overall I think you brought a little too much sexuality when your coach asked you not too. Hilary: Kendra, you're probably my favorite girl in this shot, but I'm still not blown away. I like the step you took and your face looks beautiful and strong, but I feel what you did with the dress is super cliche. We also lost one of your arms here so it looks amputated at the shoulder. It's a good shot that details were overlooked in. Natasha, I think this is a beautiful shot of you, but you don't stand out in the photograph. You look beautiful and serene in the dress, but being in the back means you have to work extra hard to stand out and you only create this very simple pose. Had you stood out more, it would make me like the shot more. Kate, I understand that sexiness if your thing and I think it's great that you always add the subtle nuances to make the shot a little sexier since its a signature of yours, but I really wanted to see one week where you just trransform into a high fashion goddess. You unfortunately didn't do that this week. It's too raw, too sexy, and not high fashion or edgy enough. It just doesn't feel like it meshes with Kendra and Natasha in this photo. It really makes the photo lack cohesion. Team Liya Maryna: I think this is your best shot to date Joan. Does it totally blow me away? No. But its the closest you have come. I think your pose is amazing, I mean the angles are sick and your legs look flawless. I think your face is also so strong, your expression is gorgous and sultry. Your cheekbones look amazing, the only thing that irks me is the hand on your hip, I would have loved if you placed it on the balcony and threw your head back with the same expression you have going on. Hilary: It's weird only judging one girl on a team before the finale. Joan, this shot is one of your best to date. It's sexy, sultry, strong, and powerful. Your skin looks amazing, your body looks fantastic, you're selling the dress, and your face has a great expression. My issue with the shot though is that we are in this gorgeous, Victorian castle and this is super modern. It just feels out of place for me. I thought that everyone would try to make the time period more modern, but still have the old-fashion touch, but I just see straight modern edge. I would have liked to see something more fitting for the time period. That's all. Team Hilary Maryna: Im sorry Hilary but I just dont get this shot. I think your idea was brilliant but Vlada and Aymeline failed to execute it. Individually I prefer Vlada, there is some androgyny to it and I like the pose, but its so boring. It doesnt have any spark to it and she seems so disconected from the shot. Aymeline's though I dont like at all. First of all you are completely unrecognizable and as a model its so important to be, your face didnt catch the light right at all. And I think you need to learn to make your body look more feminime since thats the role you were given, I see you trying but you could have parted your legs and popped a hip to the opposite side, to give you more curves. I'm just not feeling this. Liya: Vlada, I'm kinda drawing a blank on how to critique your photo. I don't think it's a bad photo at all, but it's not really leaving any impression on me and I think it's because you are not connecting with anything in the shot. I do think your pose is very good, it's casual in a good way and your body looks great and so does the outfit, but your face just does nothing for me here whatsoever, and I don't think you quite fit the role your coach asked for. Aymeline, you remind me of my Karlie here actually, you look so long and poised and statuesque. I really like the softness and mysteriousness that you brought to the shot, this certainly is a different look from you. I do think your face gets a little lost in all the fabric and shadows and arms though, and I really don't like how you're thrusting your pelvis outward because it makes you look long-torsoed and pregnant. |

So this week we didn't win sadly. But I really liked our photo and I a, proud of how you all performed. Kendra, I really loved your performance this week. I think you did really well, you are safe. So its between Natasha and Kate. Natasha your end result was good, but it was a struggle getting there. Kate, I do feel like the judges look for any excuse to judge you because I liked your performance. Though it wasn't amazing. This is a tough decision however Natasha your scores were definitely higher than Kate's, so you are safe. Kate I am sorry but I am going to send you up for elimination, you have had a lot of really strong weeks and I really hope you come back. *hugs her*

Its really hard seeing Kate go into the elimination room. I really feel she has a great portfolio but the judges don't like her like I do, and that reflects in her scores and in the end I have to do whats best for my team. With three girls in my team I don't think the odds are in her favor but I really hope she gets another chance.

Hilary: *Joins her girls* hi ladies. I am actually really surprised that we are in this position this week. I loved your shot. Aymeline, you looked like a gorgeous, mysterious dancer while Vlada played the masculine on-looker admiring from afar. I guess the other judges just didn't get that in the photo. I think this is a really tough decision because both f you have your strengths and weaknesses. Vlada, this week, your shot was great, but it was the only usable shot in your film. Aymeline, your shot wasn't as great, but you had much more to choose from. It's a very tough decision for me, but in the end, Aymeline, it's time for you to face Liya in the elimination room. Vlada, that means your safe. Aymeline, just go in there and fight to show that even though you may be tough competition, you deserve to be here.
*Confessional* Sending Aymeline in was such a tough thing to do this week because I've bad a real soft spot for her since casting. I just think she has an amazing look and deserves to be here, but I'm not sure she will come back. I feel like she's a goner if Kate is in there because we have seen Liya play the game by keeping the weaker contestants, but we've also seen the fair side of Liya. People have been saying that we have a rivalry this season, which I don't see at all, but I hope of she feels that, that doesn't come into play.

*Liya sits in the elimination room, reviewing the portfolios when the two girls walk in*
Liya: Hello Aymeline, hello Kate. *gives them a grim smile* We all know why you are here, so let's just get down to business. This is actually a very difficult decision for me because, to be frank, you two have honestly been my two favorite models outside of my team this season, and you are two complete opposites.
Aymeline, it probably comes as no surprise that you are one of my favorites since I rave about you every week, but I will admit that your novelty is beginning to wear off and that I feel you have plateaued completely and haven't changed since the beginning of this competition.
Kate, I bet you're surprised to hear that you're one of my favorites since I have been hard on you at times, but that is because I see such a spark in you; I think you could be revolutionary, both inside and outside of the fashion industry. Unlike Aymeline, I don't think you've plateaued at all...but instead you've been on a crazy rollercoaster ride because your performances go up and down week after week.
This has not been easy, but I have made my decision. The model who will be staying is...
Aymeline! I want you to rise off of this plateau Aymeline and show us that there is more to you. Congratulations, you are still in the running towards becoming The Face.
*gets up and hugs Kate* Kate, I am truly very sad to see you go. I know it might not have seemed like it, but you really have been one of my favorite girls throughout this competition and I wish you the best of luck after this because I think you could do such great things. I am sorry, but you are not The Face.

*turns to Joan and hugs her* Joan, congratulations! You really killed it this week and showed that you can carry a team on your own without other girls to support you. I was definitely impressed with you on set, and if you can keep this up then we could take home the win after all!
*in confessional afterwards* This was a somewhat bittersweet week, though overall definitely more good than bad. I was so pleased with the results, I think that this was a much needed win to lift mine and Joan's spirits. I also think she really deserved it; there was another shot of her in her film in which she was really mysterious with a hat and I now maybe wish I went with that, but I can't change the past and we won anyway so it doesn't really matter. Anyway, on a different note, sending home Kate this week was actually very difficult! There were a lot of factors that went into play, but I think Hilary was very wise with her decision...if Kate wasn't up against Aymeline, then it's quite likely that she'd still be in the competition. At least the teams are a little more even now, though that might not necessarily be a good thing for me because it's much easier to win when there is only one score to factor in.

Hilary: *sees Aymeline walk back in and immediately jumps up and hugs her* Yes! Good job, girl.
*Confessional* I was ecstatic when Aymeline walked back through the door. Having two girls going into the week before the finale is definitely an advantage because if one girl doesn't do so well and the other does, that score can dilute lesser one. Though only having one girl would allow me to focus more on her, I'd much rather have two girls still remaining. As for the competition, right now, I think Joan is probably leading. She has been very consistent with a few great weeks and many solid weeks whereas all of the other girls have had at least one bad week. Not saying Aymeline doesn't have a chance, but if she wants to win, she's going to have to kill it this week and in the finale and beat Joan in every task along the way to make up points that she's behind. Vlada, on the other hand, is probably next in line behind Joan and she's slowly creeping up on her. If Vlada can deliver strong performances from here on out, she might be able to pull this off.

*The girls are all lead outside of the loft where the find racks and racks of clothes by top designers, they look at the clothes anxiously*
Maryna: Hi ladies! As you can see we have racks and racks of top brand name clothing here for you today. Each rack is categorized by designer, we have everyone from Dior, Gucci, Moschino, etc.
Hilary: For your photoshoot you girls will be picking ONE (emphasis on one) designer/brand, you will get to style yourself and will then do a photoshoot representing that brand.
Liya: This is to teach a very special lesson to you girls. Sure editorials and runways are great but to really make yourself known you have to book blue chip, top campaigns. There is a lot more pressure on these than when your just doing an editorial.
Maryna: So think of this like a practice run. Alright girls, its first come first serve so pick your designer/brand and work it in the photoshoot.
(Originally I was going to have the coaches assign designers but I had to work today and wasn't able to put this up earlier, and just noticed that bdon won't be back until Monday. Sooooooo yeah.) |
