JUDGING
Liya: Hello lovely ladies, and welcome to this week's judging! In addition to your runway shows, you all shot ads for top clients in your respective fields. Commercial girls shot for United Colors of Benetton, Couture girls shot for Lanvin, Editorial girls shot for Hugo Boss, and Glamour girls shot for Guess. Let's check out the results, starting with the Commercial girls as usual!
COMMERCIAL
Cara: Your
walk was very strong, but that was the problem, it was far too strong and not cute or playful enough for Anna Sui, though you did look very fresh and pretty. Now onto your photo...is there any point in critiquing you anymore? I'm just going to mention the only negative which is that I wish your face matched up better with the male model's by either looking at him or at the camera like he is because he's more of the focus right now, but otherwise this is perfect. It's very playful and cute, yet still professional and you sell the accessories wonderfully. I could definitely see this as a United Colors of Benetton ad.
Charlotte: If you walked into the doors of Anna Sui and Benetton, I know they would book you in a heartbeat just on your look alone, you fit both aesthetics perfectly. Your
walk was pretty good, even though it wasn't particularly cutesy you had a lot of spunk and attitude that was actually still playful enough to work. Your photo is good, you sell the outfit and you look so incredibly beautiful, you just have such a pretty face. I do wish you had given more energy and life though, this isn't quite as playful as I would've liked...though in Benetton ads, there usually is that one model who is a little more laid back and too-cool-for-school, and this photo would work for that, so this could actually work.
Nathalie: Congratulations on winning the Anna Sui runway, your walk really fit her aesthetic, my only critique is to be a little less loose and tuck in your tummy, you looked a little bloated. Now, your shot is fabulous per usual, and since Benetton ads tend to be group photo I am just going to judge this as whole. I like how you captured so many different types of commercial here; the leftmost shot is sassy, confident commercial; the front left shot is quirky, playful commercial; the back right shot is fun, friendly commercial; and the rightmost shot is classy, cool commercial. You also sell the outfits quite well in each shot. My quick critiques are that I wish you had tilted your head lest on the left one, you hadn't crossed your arm on front left, and that your mouth wasn't so open on back right. But overall fantastic shot!
COUTURE
Kate: Your
walk was spectacular, very elegant and strong and Dior, you were very close to winning but after reflecting, you looked a smidge on the short side and Thuy stood out just a tiny but more, but you still received a perfect score and I've decided that you deserve an honorable mention bonus point so congrats on that! This is a very solid photo, I could see it as a Lanvin ad. I like the asymmetrically angled arms and your face looks divine, the best it has looked in a photo so far. The dress also looked great on you. I don't have much else to say, it's a very strong shot, it's just missing that extra something special to make me go "wow!".
Marcelina: Your
walk was quite strong, you had a nice strut and really worked the outfit, I just wish there was a little more drama in your face. Your photo is very dark and edgy, it reminds me a little of my Lanvin ads from back in the day actually. I love the profile of your body, the arch in the back and booty tooch work perfectly for the dress and the hand on this neck is very graceful. You also have a beautiful profile and while the pained expression is quite chilling, some strain is showing and the expression could be better. You also look a little short, but overall it's still a very strong shot.
Thuy: You looked divine on the runway, your walk so so elegant and powerful and dramatic. Your photo isn't quite as impressive, but it's still very strong. I love how well you are interacting with yourself, that must not have been easy yet it came across so naturally, you actually look like twins or something! I love the intertwined arms and sensual expressions, and how the one on the right looks more commanding and wicked while the one on the left looks more pained and subservient.
EDITORIAL
Bambi: Congratulations on winning the Michael Kors runway, your walk was very casual yet strong, and you looked very beautiful; the only negatives were that you were a tiny bit tilted and could use a bit more energy. Your photo is quite good as well, you definitely fit the sophisticated-sexy-cool-chic Hugo Boss image. You look very beautiful, glamorous, and expensive, and that dress looks wonderful on you, I want to buy it straightaway. Your eyes are quite captivating, there's a mysterious spark behind them that really draws me in. I do wish you had done something a little different with your mouth though, and also be a little careful of your facial angles because you lost some dimension here, your face almost looks flat, especially your nose. Overall splendid job though!
Kim: If you had more life in your face then you would've won the runway challenge, your
walk was very natural, clean, and strong, your face was just a little too deer-in-the-headlights. Now for the shoot, I feel like this was another instance where you lucked into the shot, but at least you got it in the end. This is very strong, confident, and sophisticated, and surprisingly sexy! I love how everything from the chest up as well as the arms are so symmetrical, but then you did an asymmetrical pop of the hip, it makes the photo more visually appealing. I could definitely see this as a Hugo Boss ad.
McKey: Your
walk was pretty good, it was natural and cool and you really matched your outfit, but it was a little too casual. Your photo is decent, it's very classy and sophisticated, and I could see it as a Hugo Boss ad. Your body looks good, you sell the outfit, your face looks good, and I like the androgyny. Your face could use more life though, there's not enough umph in this photo, you know? But overall good job.
Shalom: You
walk was kinda weak, to be honest. It would've been pretty good for the Dior runway, but for Michael Kors it was a bit too theatrical. You did look very beautiful and regal, though perhaps a little too regal, and your face was tilted a bit too high. Your photo is way better though, probably your best shot to date. Your legs look great and I love how many natural angles you created with your limbs despite sitting down. You look very elegant and sophisticated, and you really sell the outfit and accessories. It's very Hugo Boss, well done!
GLAMOUR
Eniko: Your
runway was decent, you had a strong strut and looked good, but you could've used more energy and personality. Your photo is sooo Guess, it's literally perfect for their brand and I could see it as an ad straightaway. Your pose is flawless; your legs look great, the arch in your back and booty tooch are incredible, you sell the swimsuit, and you look very sexy without going over the top. Your face looks beautiful and your eyes are very captivating and enticing, and the half-shadow on your face adds a mysterious allure that really works. Fantastic job!
Natasha: Congratulations on winning the Etam show, your walk was very sexy and flirty, my one critique would've been more connection and strength in your face. Your photo is extremely impressive, you look so sexy and alluring. The contortion is very impressive, all the angles are so interesting yet still sexy with the arch in the back and chest pushed out. Your face looks beautiful and I love the sensuality. My only critiques are that all the angles are a little distracting for an ad, and I don't like the open mouth. But overall fantastic job!
Sonia: You
walk was...well, atrocious. You just looked very pedestrian and awkward...your body was good, but that's the only positive really. Your photo isn't bad though at least, I could see it as a Guess ad though. Your skin looks beautiful, you sell the lingerie, you look very pretty, and there's a natural and vulnerable quality to it that I like. I do wish there was more life in your eyes, but overall it's a good shot.
