JUDGING
Liya: Hello lovely ladies, and welcome to your third judging! This week you were put back into your brands and sent on your first assignment for real clients, shooting accessory spreads in top magazines of their brands! So let's take a peak at those photos, starting with the commercial girls again.
COMMERCIAL
Cara - I can tell by the look in your eyes that you know you did well...I often notice that actually, there's usually a little glint in your eyes that says "Yeah bitch, I know I'm fabulous," and you really are so it works. I like how this is not overly smiley or cute, yet it's still plenty commercial, it's very classy commercial. Your bone structure looks great, you're selling the purse and hat, I love the little smirk, and the interaction with the male model is good. I can't think of much else to say, great job again!
Charlotte - I'm kinda torn on this shot. If you had a smile and popped your hip, I'd say it was perfect, but at this point it's missing a certain something to make it great. You do sell the sunglasses, and playing with your hair gave this just enough personality to make it commercial, and there is a too-cool-for-school aspect that also works in a different sort of commercial way.
Nathalie - You don't plan on taking a bad shot, do you? This is another great photo, you look very beautiful and cheerful, you have such a natural smile. Your eyes have a good connection with the camera, and though I wish the tiara stood out more, you're still selling it okay. My only problem is that you don't look quite as fresh and genuine as you usual do.
COUTURE
Kate - This is pretty good. You do sell the earrings, your bone structure looks great, and you pull off blue lipstick surprisingly well, that's not a lip color I'd typically recommend. All the technicalities are good in this shoot so I can't critique that, the only criticism is that it doesn't particularly stand out, but it's still solid.
Marcelina - This shot is very strong, but it was basically the only usable one in your film because a lot of them weren't high fashion enough or just weren't that impressive. I do like this one though as I said, you have so much jewelry on and you're selling it all fabulously, I want to go out and buy some of those rings and bracelets right now. Your face also looks beautiful and you look very expensive and majestic, and your expression is very commanding, you look like a desert princess. Your eyes are a little uneven though, and you lost a lot of your neck and the little that is visible is much too tense. It's a stunning photo, but not without its flaws.
Thuy - Your film was very strong, but also very editorial, few of your photos had the high fashion edge I wanted to see. This photo is still not as couture as I had hoped, but it was too stunning to pass up and I could still see it in Interview. You look so incredibly gorgeous and regal and expensive, your bone structure is to die for and your expression is so confident and enticing. You do a good enough job of selling the bag and jewelry, the only thing holding this back from perfection is the lack of couture.
EDITORIAL
Bambi - You look so cool in this photo, I think that's the best way to describe it, just cool. You're selling the sunglasses and bag and outfit very well, you look so beautiful and chic, and I love all the attitude you're serving up. My only critiques are that you're holding the bag a little awkwardly, and like Kate, it doesn't stand out all the much but it's still a solid shot.
Kim - Ah, so last week's strong photo was not just luck! This is great, I could definitely see this in Elle straightaway. Your eyes are quite piercing and they have a great connection with the camera, it draws the viewer right in. I also notice the bracelets right away, so you are selling those very well. The only criticism I have is that you shouldn't have leaned towards the camera quite so much, it caused you to lose your neck and some of your angles.
McKey - Oof, you were on such a roll but then you took a bit of a dive this week. This is just very average, you look pretty, your bone structure looks good, and you're selling the jewelry just fine, but there's not much else to it. You also don't look very fresh here, I see more of a soccer mom than a super model. It looks more like something you'd find in a local magazine or Woman's Day than Elle.
Shalom - I was torn between this and the beauty shot of you lying down, but I decided this was more editorial and worked better for this shoot. Your critique is very similar to Kate's and Bambi's; it's a solid photo, you're selling the sunglasses and bag, the angle is very interesting and works well for your face, and I can't think of many flaws, it just doesn't stand out particularly much.
GLAMOUR
Eboni - You...kinda failed at capturing the theme whatsoever this week, but I feel like you probably already guessed that. I almost placed you in commercial, and now I kinda wish I had. Anyway, this shot is still good, you do a great job of selling the jewelry so at least you got that part down, and this is probably the best your face has looked in a photo. The arms are weird though...they are kinda graceful, but at the same time they don't look like they belong to you, they look like someone else's arms photoshopped into the picture.
Eniko - This is beautiful Eniko, and this week it actually fits the theme so I'm glad that you worked on that. This is very sultry, I love the sensuality of your expression, it's very in the moment. You have a beautiful profile, your bone structure and jawline look great, and you really sell the earrings and watch. My one big critique is that this is very stiff, especially your shoulders, so I wish your body got as sensual and in the moment as your face.
Natasha - I like how you're not even in a swimsuit or lingerie, or even a particularly revealing outfit, yet you still look so sexy! The sensuality and sultriness you are evoking are great, it looks like you are a rich bitch having an affair with the pool boy, and the hand on your chest evokes just enough sex appeal without going over the top. Your bone structure also looks amazing, and you do sell the bag and shoe quite well. Great job!
Sonia - At first I wasn't sure what you were selling, but then I realized shoes count so you're selling those just fine. Your body looks good, your face looks gorgeous, I like the arch in the back, and even though it's a very simple shot, you still look plenty glamorous. It could use a bit more umph and the sex appeal could've actually been turned up a notch, but good job overall still.
