Effie: Congrats, April, you really deserved it! Your design was so gorgeous.  *in confessional* Whew, I was actually a little nervous going into last week because couture is such a risky area, so I didn't want to play it safe but there was no guarantee that my risk would pay off. And especially when everybody else's designs came out and mine wasn't quite as elegant or extravagant I got nervous, but in the end the risk paid off and the unique quality of my dress stood out enough for Heidi to love it! I felt very proud of second place, and actually I am glad I wasn't first this week because I feel the need to give credit where credit is due, and April's gown blew everyone else's out of the water, even mine. La Cha: *in confessional* I am glad that I am finally back towards the top! I started off the competition strong, but since the first couple weeks I feel like I have been stuck in the middle and perhaps fading into the background, and I feel like now is the time when I really need to start differentiating myself again and moving back up to the top. I feel like my risks haven't been paying off as much as I've been hoping, so I almost played it safe this week but I'm glad my quirky and risky design was appreciated. I feel like I could have been called before Effie, her dress was great as usual of course but I feel like mine stood out more. I mean, April had this one in the bag obviously, but couldn't I have been bumped up just one spot? Oh well, as long as I am #1 in the end I guess it doesn't matter where I fall each week as long as it's not the bottom. |

The next challenge is to create a garment that is not a gown or a cocktail dress. You must create separates. This can be a top and skirt, a pant suit, jacket and jeans. Anything. As long as they are separates. (Me: I'll accept jumpsuits as well).

Your scores have qualified you for the next round of competition. You may leave the runway. *they leave* You six represent the best and the worst designs of the week. Let's bring out your models. April: What the hell is this. There was one requirement that said that you could not make a gown or cocktail dress and that the garment must be made of separates. You made a gown... Even though it's beautiful, you didn't fulfill the challenge. Effie: You baffle me. I've begun to think that you cannot create anything that doesn't look amazing. You've been in the top three every single week and it's obvious that this week is no different. I love this look. I love how long and tall you made Alana look. Her legs look so long in those pants and they are also make her legs look beautifully thin. I love how the tight pants juxtapose the flowy, loose top. The bold pop of color is amazing. La Cha: I love this looks because not only did you make a top and a skirt, but you also made a jacket. The print is gorgeous and I love the gold tones with that tealish color. Anabela looks amazing in it and it really flatters the body. I do think the skirt is a little short. I wish it was an inch longer. Other than that, great job. Tiara: I love how edgy this look is. Normally we see soft, elegant gowns from you but this is hard and strong. The print on the jacket is amazing and it just fits her sooo well. I love the top and the bow makes the look look more expensive. I like the pants, but I just don't love the color of them. Justin: I'm not loving this one, Justin.The metallics just look too cheap honestly. It's just too much. I do think the clothes fit her well, but I just can't get past the fabric choice. I could tell you went for something different and took a risk, but at the end of the day, you're trying to sell the clothes and I don't know who would buy this. It makes me question your taste level. Lana: It's not awful, it's just that I've seen you do better work than this. I think the print is cool, but I just don't love the colors. It makes it looks like an Easter outfit for a young girl, but turned too sexy. The clothes themselves are nice, but the fabric choice is just off. |

Justin, your design this week, while the fit was good, lacked the proper fabrics and made me question your taste level. Lana, your design could have been spectacular, but the colors were off. I was hoping for it to be little, but if that's not possible, then I'll accept a full length. It may however effect the scores because the versatility of a gown isnt as great as a shorter dress.
