La Cha: My style is very exuberant and lively, but still elegant and refined. I want my clothes to be very noticeable and make a statement without quite going over the top.
Effie: My style is very elegant, regal, and posh, but still with a sexiness to it. I like to use a variety of fabrics and mix it up, making my outfits both extravagant and chic at the same time.

Nicki: My styling is unique, daring, and definitely stands out. Couture, Couture, Couture. I design amazing one of a kind pieces that make any event come alive. It's about going over the top and giving huge gowns whether bright or not that will get someone noticed. I love the color pink!
Cassandra: My style will definitely catch the eyes of the everyday glamour girl. I love to make dresses that show off the legs, giving girls a sexy and fun look. Each design has something from prints to accessories that turn will turn it from drab to fab!

JUDGING *All 12 designers are now standing on the runway* Heidi: If I call your name please step forward... Tiffany. Nicki. Tiara. Effie. La Cha. Joanna. If I have not called your name, congratulations, your scores have earned you a spot in the next round of competition. *they cheer and hug* You may leave the runway. *they leave the runway* You six designers represent the best designs of the week and the worst designs of the week. Let's bring out your models. *the models walk out* Joanna: I have one major issue with this dress and it's the length. I think it is way too short. If she ever tried to sit down or bend over to pick something up, she would have major issues. I'm not loving the top either. To me it almost looks like a harness and I hate the sleeves. I also think you need to learn to edit. The bag, the earrings, the shoes, it's all just too much. Tiffany: I just feel like this outfit ages the model so much. I like the skirt, but the material is killing me. It looks very heavy and uncomfortable. I think the top has nice details, but it just doesn't go with the skirt. The pearls also add to the aging effect of this outfit. It's not something that stands out. It's very bland. Tiara: I really love the detail in this dress. You put so much effort into hand making all those details and it looks fabulous. it looks like you put tons of thought into where each embellishment would go. The one issue I do have is that the round shape on the hips does make the model look a little larger. I love the whole styling though, but I could do without the collar. La Cha: This is fabulous. I love the material because it looks very comfortable and wearable. You work wonders with print. I feel like if I saw that center print on a roll, I'd hate it, but you make it work in this dress. I also love how you took two prints that typically don't go together work really well. I love the sleeves and the top detail, but I could do without the collar on the neck. Effie: I really love this. You and Jhencie both did very similar gowns, but I like yours a lot better. The color on the top is just gorgeous and I love how it almost looks like a wave billowing up into that shoulder detail which could have come off as chunky, but it works. I love the skirt as well. Sheer is very in right now and the skirt looks amazing in the sheer fabric. Well done. Nicki: I see that you like to go outside of the box, but this just doesn't work at all. Your model has a great body, but you can't see it at all under all of this. She honestly looks like a pink blueberry in this dress. The top is very plain and looks like a tacky prom dress and the bottom is just too much. It almost looks like barnacles attached all over her. I just don't like the dress. |

Tiffany, you're outfit was disastrous. It looked like you were designing for someone in their 40s or 50s. If this is your signature style, then I'm not sure I want to see what you'll produce next week. Nicki, you also created a terrible piece. It was tacky and not flattering to the woman's body. WEEK TWO *Heidi walks out onto the runway* Heidi: Hello designers! Congratulations on making it through the first week of competition! Are you ready for your next challenge? Well before that, we need to pick models. Let's bring them out. *the models all walk out onto the runway* Heidi: Models, as you know, this is a competition for you as well. The model paired with the winning designer will win a $25,000 spread in Elle magazine. Effie, since you won the last challenge, you get to choose first. Effie: Well, Anabela, you were great last week, but I'm going to change it up and go with Alana. Heidi: Now we will just go in order from best to worst from last weeks challenge. Tiara: I'll stick with Jac. La Cha: Well, even though Liu was paired with the losing designer, I still really liked her walk so I'll go with Liu. Cassandra: I'll go with Natasha. Jhencie: I'll take Magdalena. April: I want Josephine. Justin: I'll choose Vlada. Lana: Our names rhyme so I have to pick Anna. Alex: I'll choose Vika. Joanna: I'm shocked that no one has chosen her, but I'll choose Anabela. Heidi: okay and last is Nicki. You can choose either Karlie or Toni. Nicki: I'm sorry Toni, but I'm going to go with Karlie. As you all may know, the MTV Movie Awards are fast approaching and The Hunger Games is leading the nominations. Jennifer Lawrence has yet to pick a gown for the red carpet and wants you all to design a gown for her. Try to fit her style from past red carpets, but still stay true to yourself. Good luck! |

Effie: *in confessional* OH. MY. GOD. I am so excited for this week's challenge! Jennifer Lawrence is totally my idol and The Hunger Games is my current obsession, so winning this challenge would mean so much to me. I am really happy I won last week's challenge too of course, but this week I am trying even harder. And I think I might succeed too, I really observed Jennifer's personal style and I think my design will really suit her. Her style is very versatile, so I decided to go with something simple and chic, yet elegant and unique, so that she will stand out without having to try and it will give her plenty of room for accessorizing to make it her own as well.
La Cha: *in confessional* I was very happy to start off towards the top, I'm perfectly fine with third for now. As long as I come in first in the end, I really don't care where I end up each week as long as it's not at the bottom. This week would be a great one to end up at the top though, I love Jennifer Lawrence and she is such an influential star right now so if she were to wear my design, it would really make a statement and make a name for me as well. I hope she likes my design, I put a lot of thought into it and I think it really fits her style while staying true to my own aesthetic of vibrant and energetic without going over the top, and I used a similar idea of overlaying two designs that pleased Heidi last week.

Your scores have qualified you for the next round of competition. You may leave the runway. *The five designers who stepped forward leave the runway* Now you six designers represent the best and the worst of this weeks challenge. One of you will be named the winner and one of you will be out. Let's start with Alex. Jennifer, what did you think? Jennifer: I like the print of the dress and the colors are nice, but I just have an issue with the shape of the garment. Heidi: I agree, it's very boxy. The waist is not shown here. Jennifer: That's exactly what I was thinking. I prefer something a little more form-fitting as opposed to something more loose and bohemian. Heidi: Let's move on to Effie. Jennifer: This is very similar to Alex's gown, but I like this one much better. I love the shape and the simplicity to it. I like the simple things in a dress, though I'm not scared to take a risk. Heidi: I really like how it looks like you basically draped it on your model. The belt adds that splash of color that it needed. Jennifer: I agree. I do like bold colors so had this been a little more vibrant, it would be perfect. Heidi: Let's move on to Tiara's design. I really like this one. The black looks so elegant and I like how you took my critique from last week about the shape being more flattering. This is beautiful, Tiara. Jennifer: I agree. Even though I typically do something a little more vibrant, I have done black in the past and the unique detail on this dress really make up for the lack of color. The only issue I have is the sheerness. If I wore a bra, it would look weird and I really don't want to show my nipples to the rest of the world just yet. Heidi: Let's talk about Joanna's design. Jennifer: The color is absolutely beautiful, but I don't like the dress. The tightness at the waist right into the flowiness of the skirt just doesn't work for me. Heidi: I also don't like the chest. It almost looks like a mask. Jennifer: I was thinking the same thing! Also, the straps are really chunky and bulky. Heidi: Now let's move on to Cassandra's design* Jennifer: At first I wasn't sure how well this would work for a red carpet, but it is the MTV Movie Awards so it doesn't have to be so formal. I think the color is beautiful and I love how it goes from dark to light. Heidi: I agree. I like that it has sleeves as well. It adds a little bit of hipness to it. Though I would do without the tights. I think it cheapens the look. Alright and now let's move onto our final designer her, April. Jennifer, you can start it off. Jennifer: Uhm... No, Heidi, you start. Heidi: Well. Uhm. I don't really like it. Your turn Jennifer. Jennifer: I don't mean to sound like a bitch, but I'm going to anyways so I'll just say it. This is awful. The length is weird, the color is bad, the fit in the waist isn't right and it looks like a bad prom dress. Sorry, but I had to speak the truth. |
