PROJECT RUNWAY: SEASON 1 Hosted By: Heidi Klum *All of the designer hopefuls show up at Parsons in New York City and are greeted by Heidi Klum* Heidi: Hello everybody! Welcome to Project Runway! This competition is all about innovation and finding the next great fashion designer. Each week, you'll compete in challenges and one person will be named the winner and one of you will be out. You'll not only need to impress me, but you will also have to impress one other person in the industry. He is one of the best designers out in the industry today. He is the women's wear designer of none other than Calvin Klein. Please welcome, Francisco Costa. *all the designers are star struck* Francisco: Thank you everyone. I'm really excited to be here and see what you will produce. Heidi: Well, I'm sure you want to hear about your prizes. The winner of Project Runway will receive an exclusive designer's boutique in select Neiman Marcus Stores and on NeimanMarcus.com, $100,000 in technology and office space to help grow your own business from HP and Intel, $100,000 cash from L'Oreal Paris, a feature spread in Marie Claire as well as a guest editor spot at Marie Claire, and a sewing and embroidery studio provided by Brother International. Aren't those prizes amazing?! Let's get started and see who will win them! Rules: -each user can be up to TWO designers (come up with names for them) -you MUST use runway photos unless specified otherwise -model selection will take place each week -2 public posts before you are disqualified -PM all shots except for casting model selection -The winner of each challenge will receive immunity for the next challenge until six people remain -Bear with me, this is my first attempt at a game like this. MODEL SELECTION: Each week, there will be model selections after the winner and loser are announced. You will be able to choose models in the order that you are called. When asked to send your model selection, rank all the models in order from most desired to least desired. You will get the girl furthest up on your list that has not been chosen by someone called ahead of you. The model whom is not chosen will be eliminated from the competition. Designer Wall of Fame |

For casting week, just tell the name of your designer (make this up) and choose a real model (preferably one with an extensive runway portfolio (these can be found on style.com usually)). This will be your model for the first week and then you may be put with other models depending on who is chosen. POST THESE ON THE THREAD. Once I feel that we have enough designers, I will close signups and give the first challenge.

Heidi: Well! We have our 12 designers! Congratulations guys! And girls! Weve selected you 12 from so many different designer that wanted these spots. I'm sure you want to go get settled into your apartments, but I'm gonna have to disappoint you because you are all going to begin your first challenge! I really want you to all be able to size up your competition so the first challenge is to create a garment that reflects your design asthetic and point of view. Be unique and stand out.

So im really happy to be able to show off my aesthetic with this challenge. My designs are for that effortlessly chic, fashion forward and mysterious girl. The kind your afraid to hit on in a party cause you know she can kick your ass. Very femme fatale. *laughs*

Its been my dream to become a huge fashion designer and im so glad to be a part of this competition now. My design is like classic elegance, with a modern glamorous twist. I have no doubt my designs are flawless.

April: I draw inspiration from my Musical and theater background.
Joanna: I play with textures and silhouettes I mix things that usually clash and put them together in beautiful harmony girly but sexy.
