Casting Deliberation
Lara: So this is the first girl up for casting! What do you think Faith?
Faith: I really like her. She has nice eyes, great cheekbones, good body. Its a look that can be both editorial and commercial.
Lara: I really like how she looks sweet in her beauty shot but then is a total edgy bombshell in her casting one. I think shes alright. Shes someone who can transform really well.
Lara: Okay so next up is Charlotte.
Faith: She didn't say a lot during her interview but you could tell she had spunk. She was right about her look, even if you take away the pink her she has some really nice features.
Lara: She's like an editorial barbie. The casting shot is really badly styled and bland for me, but I think her beauty shot is perfection and perfectly showcases her look.
Faith: She is on the short side though and I do feel she may end up becoming a niche model.
Lara: Do you think she has what it takes to make it into the mainstream?
Faith: I'm not sure.
Lara: Fave.
Faith: Fave.
Lara: Like is she even up for discussion? By far the best we have seen.
Faith: She's the kind of girl I could young girls looking up too.
Faith: She said she was 28 and honestly....she looks like shes in her thirties in these photos. I dont like either of them.
Lara: But do you dislike her?
Faith: Well no, not really.
Lara: Same here. She was so bubbly and fun in her interview, I dont like these photos but I like her.
Faith: I do see what she meant about some unique features. And I feel like she might be better than these photos.
Lara: But is her personality enough to get her in over contestants who submitted better shots?
Faith: *shrugs*
Lara: I like her. But im not sold on her. I like the casting shot but I think its almost too much, she looks more like a dancer.
Faith: And her beauty shot is the opposite. It's not enough, it's really boring to look at. I just dont think her look is enough to stand out amongst the others.
Lara: Well she certainly has a unique look! She definately stands out, but is it in a good way?
Faith: I think her look isnt always going to photograph well. For example her beauty shot is great but her face is looking old and botoxed in the casting one.
Lara: She could be hit or miss, and is definately going to have to know her angles everytime she's on set.
Faith: Well he was quite the charmer.
Lara: I like him. I cant help but compare him to Matt, though Matt was more commercial while Harry's look seems more interesting and editorial.
Faith: I just think you have a weakness for cute boys. *laughs*
Lara: *laughs* Maybe. He has definately been the most upfront guy weve had so far, when it comes to flirting at least.
Faith: I think he would be really interesting to have this cycle, he has the type of look I can see working for a Next Model.
Lara: I agree, his look is very current among male models.
Lara: The first celeb this cycle!
Faith: At Next we actually value our celebrities a lot, and we have a seperate section for musicians, Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora are all examples. And honestly I could see Iggy fitting right in.
Lara: She's 5'10, if it wasnt for "dat ass" of hers then she could have been a working model. Her face is incredibly beautiful as well.
Lara: He's the 2nd celeb so far and another male. What do you think?
Faith: Im not feeling him honestly. I don't think he looks like a model, he reminds me more of a boy next door not a top fashion model. At all.
Lara: *nods* He actually has some really nice eyes. But I agree. And that casting shot is atrocious.
Lara: Oh my god that face! That is my favorite beauty shot. Bar none.
Faith: She is an absolute stunner. I like her casting photo too, but I do wish she didnt have so much hair in her face. She did say she's been modeling for a while and its sort of noticable. You can tell she has some experience.
Lara: *nods*
Lara: I am intrigued by her look. She reminds me of several models, like Ruby Aldridge and Kendra Spears all morphed into one.
Faith: Her close up is an absolute dream. My god she looks flawless there. But im not feeling the casting photo, she's looking a little crazy.
Lara: I actually don't dislike it, I feel like she has her own style and used that in a way that made her stand out.
Faith: That was very Tyra of you.
Lara: Dont even joke like that.
Lara: Her story was probably the most captivating out of everyone. A+ for pulling at the heartstrings. What do you think of her as a model though?
Faith: I actually find her look to be androgynous but also very exotic. I feel like she's a girl who can transform and appeal to different markets with the right styling.
Lara: I think these are both good photos, the casting one especially. But are they amazing? no.
Lara: I can see her joining Britt and Tara as The Modeling Academy HBIC Royalty.
Faith: I'm sure she's great for ratings, but she is 36 years old. Wow.
Lara: That's part of what makes it so great for ratings!
Faith: *Rolls eyes* Anywaaaays. Despite what I said I do think her look is stunning, very classic and timeless. She has a face that I think could fit in with a lot of the older iconic supermodels. And I will admit I think these are both some strong photos.
Lara: I have high expectations for quotes and drama from her.
Lara: I have said to many girls before that they have legs for days. Well I was lying. I have no words to describe her legs.
Faith: Her body in general is just fantastic. And its not just that, her face is so beautiful, fresh and current.
Lara: And she seems to have talent too, she looks fantastic in both of these photos. I could see her being a total package.
Lara: Love her. She has one of the most interesting faces to me, its a bit Freja Beha, but her features are sort of puppy like too.
Faith: That is the strangest description I have ever heard.
Lara: I adore her beauty shot. I think it perfectly captures her look and what makes her special.
Faith: She is looking great in the casting one as well, great pose, intensity, etc. I think she could be competition.
Faith: She had literally my favorite entrance. She had such a cute smile and great energy,
Lara: She seems like a sweetheart. And a super fan too. You can tell just how much she wants this and when I look at these two photos I could see her making it far.
Faith: I agree. She went from being super cute in front of us to this editorial queen on film. These shots are gorgous.
Lara: One of my favorites no doubt.
Faith: She reminds me of the old 90's supermodels, but re-incarnated in a modern form.
Lara: And you said my description was weird.
Faith: I like her casting shot, though I do think her body is a bit boxy so she might need to work on that.
Lara: But that face is gold! Her close up is amazing.
Faith: Is it just me or are we getting a lot of Polish and Dutch girls?
Lara: The Netherlands represent!
Lara: Another celebrity!
Faith: She's also another tall one. These are nice photos and she has better proportions than Iggy too.
Lara: But I think Iggy has a ten times more striking face.
Faith: Could we cast both?
Lara: Well so far weve liked almost everyone, so im not sure if we have room for two celebrities this cycle.
Lara: I am in love with her face. One of the most unique looks I have seen.
Faith: I completely agree. She's young too. Problem is you can tell she is a bit inexperienced, though I can see her being a diamond in the rough.
Lara: I agree. These shots are nothing special. But her in person is the opposite.
Faith: We will have to think on her.
Faith: I think the most unique thing about her is her name. Her look isnt doing it for me.
Lara: Dont get me wrong I like her, maybe in one of the earlier cycles she could have made it. But put her next to everyone here who have these amazing unique looks and she completely fades away.
Faith: *nods*
Lara: And the last girl up is Zuza! Short for Zuzanna.
Faith: She reminds me of Yumi. I actually really like them both. I think Yumi has the better look though.
Lara: But I think Zuza has the better pictures.
Faith: Decisions decisions.
