Head of Household Competition
*the girls enter the judging room hoping that they turned out the best photo in order to gain control as the new Head of Household*
Carolyn: Hello ladies and welcome back to the judging room. It's time to evaluate your shots this week and decide who will be the new Head of Household. This week you shot in the desert as escaped convicts. We really just told you to be a bad ass and I hope we see that in your photos this week. We will start with the outgoing Head of Household, Jac.
I really like this, Jac. I feel like it's strong, edgy, and powerful. You're giving the attitude I wanted in the face which is super impressive and your body looks amazing in that dress. I do think it's a little posy and not natural enough though. We kinda just wanted something strong and powerful, but also caught in the moment. The arms up bring it to a very posy level for me.
See Jac, this is more caught in the moment. Karmen, I really like your photo this week. You seem to be emerging as a consistent contender which is setting you up well to go far in this competition. I love the walking motion and the wind caught your hair perfectly. You're looking off in the distance like you don't know where you're going next, but you need to keep moving or you'll be caught. You told a story. My negative for you this week would be that your film was not great. You often lost your model.
Meghan, this shoot was made for you and I think you know that. You killed it this week. There was so much to choose from in your film and that's a good problem to have from my perspective. If Karmen told a story with this shoot, you wrote an entire series of novels. You're looking at the camera like it's the police chasing you and you just caught a glimpse of them and you're going to take off. I don't even mind the lack of neck here because it creates mystery in the shot. Brilliant job, Meghan.
Wow! I was not expecting this, Britt. I honestly thought that after the first few weeks, you were going to be going pretty soon, but maybe you'll be sticking around longer than I thought. You look amazing in this, Britt. First off, I know you're almost 5'11, but you never seem to look it in your photos, more like 5'8-5'9, but here you look 6'5. Those legs. They go on forever and really make me love the shot. Your pose is simple, but strong. Like you're ready to take on an adversary in your way to freedom. Great job.
You struggled this week, Kendra and that makes me nervous. You're such a pretty girl and I've been wary on whether you could do edgy and with an edgy shoot, you really struggled. Everything was too pretty and graceful rather than raw and hard. This was the edgiest it got and I still feel a dreamy sense from you. I do like the pose and how the light is hitting your face, but I just don't see the brief here.
One word for you, Ginta. Neck. You really need to watch the neck because there were some gorgeous photos of your body and face, but the lack of neck took it to a mediocre shot. This shot you gave some, but had you extended it more, you could have been at the top. I love the pose and the face has a great intensity, but I'm too distracted by the neck that I'm having a hard time evaluating anything else. You did fit the brief very well, though, which is commendable.
Olga, I felt you were very average this week. There was nothing great throughout your film and if there was something great, it wasn't fitting the brief like I wanted it to. I know you have the face to kill it in a photo like this, but you didn't use it. Yes you look pretty, but we wanted something stronger and edgier which is what we didn't get here.
I think you got screwed this week by forgetting the fundamentals and trying to do something different. I feel like you did not use a great angle on your body because you look both short and your legs look thick. Then you didn't find the light very well because half of your face is in the dark. I also am not a huge fan of your pose because, like Jac, I think it makes the shot look very staged and not very in the moment.
I like that you did something different, Bregje. You walked away from the camera instead of towards it which I like because it's like you're leaving behind something to move on to something different. I also wasn't sure about you in profile, but I think you look great in profile. Your bone structure looks beautiful and you caught the light very well. I also like that you brought a little sexiness here. It distinguishes you.
Katya, you're the most frustrating girl in this competition to me because you have it all, but you clearly don't know how to use it. You're insanely gorgeous and have an amazing body. I mean look at those legs in this shot. But you aren't really doing anything in the photo. You're just standing there. And then the tilt of the head just looks very awkward and your face is just not strong. It's disappointing because I had such high hopes for you.
