Hilary: *Confessional* As a whole, I'm not going to lie, but I do feel like my team could have done better. After seeing the final result, I can definitely see who did the best on my team and who didn't do so well. I do like the shot and I'm proud of my girls for what they produced, but if we don't win this week, which I still think is possible, I do know who will be nominated for elimination. It's clear.

Liya: *in confessional* I am quite proud of my team's image. I think we overall produced the most original and cohesive image, so hopefully that will work in our favor, and I also feel we were the only group in which there wasn't one obvious weak link or scene-stealer. My girls worked very well together on set and matched each other perfectly, and Ioanna even modified her role slightly into that of a more androgynous partner to Magdalena which I was happy with since I told them there was room for flexibility if they had more ideas, and that idea worked splendidly. I wouldn't say my team has this in the bag for sure or anything, but hopefully week one will go to Team Liya!

Photoshoot Judging Team Maryna  Liya: Freja absolutely steals this shot for me. She is the center of attention and she is owning it, serving up the perfect amount of androgyny and power with her tense yet casual pose and strong expression. As for the other girls, I'm not as impressed. The one on the far left, who I think is Marloes, is doing pretty well; she's giving the sensuality and desperation I'd expect of a fawning admirer. The center girl, Rosie I believe, really brings down the shot for me. She looks like she just fell over and is trying to get back up, I don't see any emotion from her or connection with the rest of the story. As for Cara, she looks so regal and mysterious and I like the shot of her individually, but it seems almost like she's trying to steal the spotlight from Freja and the toplessness is a bit risque for American Vogue. Overall as an image though I would say it works, the outfits are being sold and it is cohesive. Freja: 10 Cara: 8 Rosie: 5.5 Marloes: 9 TOTAL: 32.5 Hilary: At first glance, I absolutely loved this shot, but then as I looked more, I did see some flaws that really brought the shot down for me. First off, Freja, you're killing it up there. You're standing simply, but strong and you're serving it up with the face. You're the focus of the shot and you're owning it, but I'm not sure I necessarily see the androgyny that Maryna wanted. You look more like head bitch as opposed to head man. Rosie, I love what you're doing on the floor. Maryna gave you a task that fits you perfectly so I expected nothing less of you. I think you look sweet and pretty and you did a great job. Cara, at first I was like DAMN, she's killing it. But now that I look at it, you kind of stand out as a sore thumb. Your styling is just very dramatic and of another time period so I don't necessarily get why you are wearing that. It's more romantic where I felt this shoot was more edgy. But I can't deny that the posing is spectacular and your expression is great. Marloes, normally I'd go left to right when judging a group shot, but I just decided to skip over you because I don't even notice you. It'd be better to stand out in a not-so-positive way like Cara did than to not stand out at all. You look pretty, but that's not enough. Freja: 9 Rosie: 9 Cara: 8.5 Marloes: 6.5 Total: 33 Team Liya  Maryna: I gotta give it to your girls Liya, they probably took to their roles the best out of anyone this week. Georgina I think you look the best in the photo, everything you are doing is so intense and amazing to look at. Catherine I love the pose and the movement with the dress, the face doesnt impress me at much but its still very good. Now on to Magdalena and Ioanna, again impeccable teamwork. You both look like total snobs. Ioanna you impress me more, you totally have that "judging you" face going on ad I love your pose. Magdalena, I love the dress on you though I think your expression is a bit cold, could have had more bitchyness to it I guess, but you do look beautiful. I also like how even though Magdalena and Ioanna are all the way in the back, they stand out in their own way and it works for the whole snobs VS crazy girls kinda theme. Georgina: 10 Catherine: 8 Ioanna: 9 Magdalena: 8 Total: 35 Hilary: This is not meant to be disrespectful at all, Liya, but I really just don't get the concept. The theme of the week was MINIMALIST high fashion and this shot, well one half of it, is super dramatic. I also don't really get the story. Anyways, onto the girls. Catherine, you're absolutely my favorite in this shot. You were actually my favorite girl to watch on set because you were killing it. Though I thought the brief was weird, you embraced it and killed it. I love how you're so in control. Georgina, your bone structure looks insane and I love your face here. I do like the body, but you look short from the way you are squatting. Even though I like the body, I feel like since you were told to go crazy, you could have done more because it's very simple except for the motion. Magdalena and Ioanna, I'm going to just address you together because you have the same critique. You girls get lost. I am so intrigued by what Catherine and Georgina are doing no matter how weird I think it is. Ioanna, I do think you look stronger than Magdalena, but overall, you both get so lost. Catherine: 9.5 Georgina: 8.5 Magdalena: 6 Ioanna: 7 Total: 31 Team Hilary  Maryna: Honestly my eyes go straight to Bambi first. Bambi is in the background but she is just working it! Shes doing androgyny as well as my girl Freja. Ali, I dont think you got the whole sensual thing down. I like the pose, there is some sexyness with the popped hip but you arent working the dress for me, I feel like it just consumes you. You didnt catch your lighting and im not seeing sexy in the face. I feel like you didnt really embody your role while the others girls did and honestly androgyny is harder to pull off. Anna S and Anna D, I think you both did great working the androgynous look. Anna S your posing is great, you really know how to work with your body, and Anna D you really got that relaxed masculine vibe going on, that being said you both sort of get lost in the background. Bambi: 10 Ali: 6.5 Anna S: 7.5 Anna D: 7.5 Total: 31.5 Liya: I'm not exactly sure where to start here, overall the image is a little messy, but I'll start with Ali since she's in the forefront. I don't really have much to say about her though to be honest, nothing about her really piques my interest which is unfortunate since she is supposed to be the star of the shot. Now, onto Bambi...to me, she is the true star of this shot. I like her pose, I like her face, she looks great, and she sells the outfit well; her only issue is that she isn't matching up as much with the rest of the girls as I'd like. Anna S is pretty strong here, she has a great stance and sells her look, but she seems kinda out of place. And as for Anna D, she seems far too casual for this setting but I do like all the angles she created and she manages to still stand out despite being so far back in the photo. Overall I like what most of the girls did individually, but as a whole this image doesn't come together as nicely as it could because of the lack of cohesiveness. Liya: The winning team is decided based on this formula.
Hilary: Your overall score from both the judges critiques, which is then averaged (divided) by the number of girls on your team. And the team with the highest average wins the challenge.

Now I have to send one of you to face Liya in elimination. Freja, you lived up to my expectations and were my favorite this week, you are safe. Marloes, I was personally impressed by your performance you are also safe. *Rosie and Cara look nervous* So its between you two, the girl I have decided to send is.....................Cara. I am sorry Cara, but watching you on set you struggled with direction, there was a clear disconnect between you and the other girls in the photo. Cara: im really bummed with the decision but I expected it I know I can do the sexy part of the brief I guess what really hurt me was the styling. im hoping that my performance in casting will help some. i really dont feel that I had a week photo. im still hoping to pull threw.

Hilary: *sits the girls down* I'm not going to be so sweet and lovey dovey with you girls because I was not so happy with the results. We came in dead last this week and it stinks because that puts me in the position to have to nominate you when I feel like you all have potential to go far. Anna D, when I looked at this shot, my eyes went straight to you and that is saying a lot because you were the furthest girl in the back and you probably have the most feminine look. Frame after frame you just owned it so for that, you are safe. Bambi, you also were great and the other judges loved you as well which means that you're safe. Anna S, Ali, you both had the same problem this week: you both failed to stand out. Ali, I have you the lead role this week hoping that I could take this young girl and transform her into a stunning woman, but you failed to get into character and as the lead girl, you let down the photo. I expected a lot from you Anna as you are my super high fashion edgy girl, but you failed to get into character and struggle to bring anything to the shoot in my opinion. However, you did not let down the shot as you were not in the starring role and for that reason, you are safe. Ali, I'm sorry, but that means that you will be heading to the elimination room.

Liya: Hello Ali, hello Cara. *they greet her nervously* Now, we all know why we are here right now, I must unfortunately cut one of you from the competition. I must say that I am surprised to see you two here since you both were such stand-outs in casting and I wanted both of you on my team. However, both of you underperformed this week, so I see why your coaches sent you before me.
This is no easy decision and I have been reviewing your performances for a while, but since this is only Week 1, I have very little work off of beyond your potential and the photos I have in front of me. Ali, you are so fresh and youthful and full of potential, but I am not sure if you really understand how to use it yet and I am not sure if you are on the same level as the other girls. Cara, you likewise have plenty of potential and freshness, and unlike Ali you seem more seasoned to me...which makes it less forgiving for you to slip up. Additionally, your problem seemed to be difficulty taking direction, which you really need to do if you want to succeed.
It is very close to me, but in the end I have reached my decision. I believe that one of you has more potential and readiness to be The Face, so congratulations...
Cara! I think this week may have just been an off start for you, but make sure to pay closer attention to Maryna's direction next time as she is the expert and you are not. You are free to rejoin your team. *Cara sighs with relief and walks out*
*Liya turns to Ali* Ali, I really believed in you in casting and I am very sorry to see you go, but in the end Cara edged you out this week by having a stronger photo and receiving higher scores. *goes up to her own girls* I haven't had a chance to congratulate you ladies yet, so congratulations! *they group hug and Liya gives them all high fives* All of you did so well this week and made me very proud, so keep up the good work! I hope this will be the first of many victories.
*in confessional* The elimination was difficult for me, I felt so bad having to be the bearer of bad news and having a girl's future in my hands, but I did what needed to be done and eliminated the girl with the weaker performance. It's a shame though, I really did like Ali and saw so much potential in her. But anyway, I can't be too torn up about it because Team Liya won Week 1! Woohoo! My girls really did make me proud and I was very pleased with our final image, and I am so happy for them to have the chance to appear in American Vogue since that is huge. I know that they definitely weren't perfect and there is still room for improvement though, but at least we are off to a strong start and hopefully we can maintain the lead with our strong teamwork.

It was so scary seeing one of my girls almost go home, I thought Liya would have kept Ali because she seemed weaker, but I am glad she thought fairly. Hopefully this will push Cara into following directions better because I know she is so talented.

Magdalena: I'm so happy with my group, we won the first challenge but in individual performance, i got the lowest score which is sad, so i am still lucky because we're all safe. Next week, i'll try my best to improve my performance because if i didnt. i probably going home because i am the least favorite (i think) in our group.
