Welcome to your first judging. If your first week is any indication, this is going to be one tough competition. No one did badly, and most of you did absolutely fantastic. Let’s get down to your critiques, shall we?
Anne No. Just no. This is amazing.
Sky Sky, I’ll be honest. You were one of the girls on the casting bubble. I wasn’t sure about you. But your film blew me away. This is one of my favorite pictures this week. It’s absolutely dreamy. There could’ve been a better angle on the back leg to make it appear longer, but overall, beautiful work.
Rhianna Lord, you are working this dress. This is one of my favorite long shots. The close up on the face is not my favorite, but I’m not sure what it is. Perhaps it’s the tough look, and I’m used to seeing you so sweet. I’m glad to see other expressions from you, however.
Megan Wow, this is gorgeous. There is so much intensity in those eyes. I feel like Ursula is coming to get me and turn me into one of those weed things. This is how to be evil and beautiful at the same time.
Jennifer This is a nice picture. It seems to be missing a bit of Merdia’s pluck and spunk. You do have beautiful eyes and a serene gaze, but toughness there too. The stance is strong. I just wish there was a bit more sparkle.
Beyonce Your eyes are piercing even through all that makeup. The Black Swan was a trickster, a heartbreaker, and an enchantress. There is a mystery in your face that makes me know more. I want to know you. When I first saw this picture, I didn’t like it. The more I look at it, the more beautiful I found it.
Mila This is gorgeous. It’s always a risk to cover your face, especially an eye. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, and you have such beautiful eyes. And yet, I can’t stop staring at that one green eye staring at me. The cock of the eyebrow is genius.
Taylor I don’t think heavy eye makeup is for you. As a long shot, it looks like your eyes are almost closed. I love the mouth though. I chose this photo, because even with the heavy eye makeup, I felt the photo suited your character well.
Emmy Emmy, when I assigned this photo shoot, I immediately thought about you. You remind me of a fairy tale princess, and you did not disappoint. You did not have an easy set to pose with, surrounded by beautiful, brightly colored flowers, and yet, I still focus on you. Be careful with your hands, as your hand in this picture is very ungraceful. Great job overall.
Zoe I love the angles here, the open spaces between the limbs. There’s so much longing in your face, like you can’t wait to get to that ball, or you can’t believe that your shoe is back there.
Emma S Emma, you are the chameleon in this competition. You are always fashionable. You know what I love about this picture? The evil queen holding a cigarette up to one of her subjects, like she’s forcing him to smoke. I don’t know, maybe that’s just my sick humor. I’m not sure I love your hair in this film though. Your forehead was very much in the forefront of these pictures, and your forehead is not that big.
Charleze Late addition to the competition, and boy, am I glad you are here. Your film was the hardest to edit, because every photo was A-MAZ-ING! I could’ve chosen any of these photos for your portfolio. How do you point your toes barefoot on a slippery rock without looking? Crazy.
Emma W I thought you would have an easy time with this shoot, and I’d be treated to a Harry Potter inspired photo shoot. I am so glad there was no wizards to be found. This is very pretty. We had two Alices. Sky went straight up dreamy, and worked it out. Your photo is dreamy as well, but I love the slight confusion on the face. You are missing a leg, which is disturbing. But hey, it’s Wonderland, right?
